It is the first game of the Road Safety World Series T20 2022 and hosts India Legends would be up against South Africa Legends. The Indian side had won the trophy last year and displayed good form and they would be eager to make a strong start to the tournament. South Africa Legends had also done well last year to finish third and they would look to start with a big win.
India Legends has a strong bowling attack with two quality spinners who are likely to make the South Africans struggle in this game. They also have good knowledge of the conditions playing at home. However, South Africans are always known to come hard at their opponents, and we expect to see an electrifying start to the tournament.
Sachin Tendulkar would like his side to start from where they had left. The side had won all but one game last season and defeated Sri Lanka Legends in the final. They have retained their core team from last year and this would be a confidence booster. Tendulkar shall like to lead his side from the front and aim at starting the tournament with a win.
Suresh Raina coming in adds to the side’s batting strength and he would like to set up a big opening wicket stand with Tendulkar. The middle order is strong for the team with Naman Ojha, Yuvraj Singh, and Yusuf Pathan in the team, and these players are known for being good hitters of the ball. Irfan Pathan and Stuart Binny are excellent finishers, and this adds to the side’s strength.
Irfan Pathan and Munaf Patel would like to work their magic with the new ball and bring their skills into play. Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha would enjoy the conditions here and they would look to trouble South Africans who aren’t the best players of spin bowling. Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, and Binny add variety to this attack making it strong.

Jonty Rhodes’ side had done well only to lose in the semifinal last year. The legendary fielder would hope for a better result this year. They had lost against India by a big margin last season and the South African skipper would like to avenge that loss. It would be a tough challenge and their batsmen shall need to do well against the spinners.
Morne van Wyk and Andrew Puttick had scored runs at the top last year, and they would look to do the same in this game. Rhodes must guide the middle order along with Alviro Petersen and Zander de Bruyn as it will be tough against the Indian spinners. Lance Klusener is a great finisher, and he will look to add quick runs with Vernon Philander down the order.
Makhaya Ntini has been a champion bowler and he will need to bowl good lines with the new ball along with Garnett Kruger. Klusener and Vernon Philander will aim to bowl tight spells in the middle overs as the Indians have a very strong batting line-up. Eddie Leie and Johan Botha must turn the bowl and put the Indians under pressure.

We expect to see cloudy skies over Kanpur on September 10 and there might be rain during the game. The wicket is flat, but the conditions would make it challenging for the batsmen. The side batting first would need to make 160 runs to feel safe on this wicket.
Green Park, Kanpur is a big ground with large boundaries. It has a fast outfield, and this allows batsmen to score runs easily on the surface. Fast bowlers do get the ball to move in the early overs of the game. Spinners have enjoyed a good record here as the ball turns sharply.
The track at Kanpur is a good surface to bat and stays the same throughout the game. Defending scores at this venue have never been easy as we have seen big run chases in the past. The side winning the toss would look to bowl first and restrict the opponents to a small total.
South Africa Legends have brought in many new players from what we had seen in the last season. Many of these players haven’t played the game for a while and this would be a challenge for the team. India Legends know the conditions well and have good spinners in the attack. This would make them favorites in this game.
