India won the T20I series by 3-0 margin in the 6-match T20I series with rain washing out a couple of matches. Now, the focus shifts onto the ODIs with both India and South Africa tied in ICC Championship points table with 16 points.

India has been on a roll in the ODIs winning their last 4 ODI series against England (twice), Sri Lanka, and New Zealand. Indian team looks much more formidable side in the ODIs than the T20Is recently.

India team will be dejected with their loss in the final T20I match and will look to improve their batting department. Despite the series victory, no Indian player scored a fifty in the series. Mithali Raj returns to the team and takes over the captaincy responsibilities in the ODIs. Harmanpreet Kaur, Shefali Sharma, and Jemimah Rodrigues scored some vital runs with the bat to post good total on board in the recent T20Is.

Indian bowlers were right on money in the T20 series and restricted South Africa to a low score in most of the matches. Spinners Deepti Sharma and Poonam Yadav were the chief wicket-takers with 7 & 6 wickets respectively.
