Tournament: India Women vs South Africa Women 2021 | Format: T20 | Venue: Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, India | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowSouth Africa Women would be proud of the way they performed in the ODI series. Few would have given them the chance to beat India Women in these conditions and a 4-1 series win is something the side can be extremely proud of. They outplayed India Women in all departments of the game. With their pride hurt Indians would be looking to bounce back in the T20 series.
This is a different ball game and with both the sides likely to see new players turn up in the game it is expected to be a very interesting one. India Women have had an impressive record over the South Africans in this format and this is something that would add to their confidence in this game.
Harmanpreet Kaur has a big challenge on hand going into this game after the shattering defeat the side suffered in the ODI series. Their bowling attack had looked clueless during the ODIs and shall need to do well here. They have dominated South Africa Women in the past in this format and shall look to draw inspiration from that.
The side would look for an aggressive start in the game from Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana in this game. The middle order for the side is power packed with Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma to follow. They would also be expecting quick runs from Sushma Verma and Richa Ghosh down the order.
It was their bowling attack that was a big setback for the side in the ODIs and it has to come good here. Mansi Joshi and Deepti Sharma will need to start off with wickets at the top as South Africa’s top order is in great form. Poonam Yadav, Arundhati Reddy and Rajeshwari Gayakwad will have to keep the line tight during the middle overs for the side to stop the South African batters from taking the game away.

Suné Luus would be extremely proud of the way her side has performed on this tour so far. While the skipper missed last few games she would be leading her side with confidence in this game. They have got under the skin of the Indians and shall look to carry the momentum forward into this game.
Openers Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt have been in great form in this series so far and they would look to provide a good start in the game. In the middle order the side has good strength with Luss, Mignon du Preez and Marizanne Kapp having made runs on this tour. They would also expect good show down the order from Anne Bosch and Faye Tunnicliffe in this game.
Bowling wise they have been brilliant so far in these alien conditions. Marizanne Kapp and Shabnim Ismail shall look to test the Indian top order with their variety and pick early wickets here. Ayabonga Khaka and Tumi Sekhukhune have also done well on this tour and the side would be expecting a similar show from them here.

The skies would be slightly overcast over Lucknow on March 20. Batters would have to be watchful against the new ball as it can be difficult at the start of the game. The wicket is expected to be slow as we had seen during the ODIs and the side batting first would be happy with a score in excess of 140 runs.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium, Lucknow has a good surface that balances it out between the batters and the bowlers. The fast outfield and shorter boundaries assist the batters. There is early assistance for the fast bowlers on this surface and once the ball gets old spinners also do well on this surface.
The track has been a tough one to start scoring on and the conditions are likely to get better as the game progresses. Hence the side that wins the toss here would have no hesitation in their mind and opt to bowl first and aim to restrict the opposition to a low total.
South Africa Women have been at their best so far on the tour. Their batting has looked in great form so far and their bowlers too have done the job well. India Women on the other hand would be on back foot as they suffered crashing defeat during the ODIs. But they are a tough side to beat at home and have a very good record against South Africa in this format and this would put them nose ahead to win the game.
