South Africa captain Temba Bavuma described the opening game victory for his side as "a good start to the series" although he was open that the team still had to scrap for the result in spite of the large victory margin. In the Irish camp, Paul Stirling was keen to move on and he will need his batting line-up to all step up a couple of levels as they look to level the series.
For players who are so accustomed to playing T20 and T10 cricket, the slower and somewhat two-paced nature of the wicket in Abu Dhabi can be hard to come to terms with but after experiencing the first ODI, we expect more players to look more comfortable this time around.
That said, there are some very accurate seam and swing bowlers for both South Africa and Ireland who will be looking forward to getting stuck into the opposition batters once again in this game.
It was by no means a perfect performance from South Africa in the first game of the series but Temba Bavuma was still a happy man to see his side sweep Ireland aside by 139 runs. However, they won the opening match of the T20Is only to see the series end in a draw so there will be plenty of determination amongst the Proteas to wrap this all up on Friday!
A feature of the win on Wednesday was that it was achieved with scores of only 4 from captain Bavuma and a four-ball duck from experienced middle-order batter Rassie van der Dussen who averages 51.30 from 57 ODI innings. The team management will have been delighted to see Ryan Rickelton and Tristan Stubbs step up and deliver 170 of the team's 271/9 total.
With the ball, we expect to see the same attack after the five-man unit, led by Lizaad Williams (4/32) took all ten wickets!
Ryan Rickelton (wk), Tony de Zorzi, Temba Bavuma (c), Rassie van der Dussen, Tristan Stubbs, Wiaan Mulder, Andile Phehlukwayo, Bjorn Fortuin, Lizaad Williams, Lungi Ngidi, Ottneil Bartman

There was an ODI debut for 22 year old leg-spinner Gavin Hoey in Wednesday's opening game of the series and although he went wicketless we certainly expect him to retain his place in the Ireland XI.
It was a combination of leaking a few too many runs and the batters being unable to keep up with the required run-rate which saw the wickets fall too quickly for Ireland in the first game so there is work to do across the team ahead of this match.
Captain Paul Stirling will need to look in the mirror when looking for players who can perform better with the bat in this match and he will also be hoping for more from the likes of Curtis Campher, Harry Tector and fellow opener Andy Balbirnie.
With the ball, Mark Adair and Craig Young will relish the chance of bowling at the South Africans once again after returning figures of 4/50 and 3/45 respectively.

This will be another very warm day and evening in Abu Dhabi with the temperature forecast to peak at 36 degrees. No cloud cover is expected across the match and even at the end of the fixture the temperature will still be over 30 degrees.
There was not a great amount of pace in this wicket on Wednesday and we do not expect that to change a great deal in time for this game on Friday. A par score is likely to be around 250 with the bowlers on both sides getting plenty of assistance from the pitch and the batters struggling to time the ball.
With four of the last five ODIs in Abu Dhabi being won by the team batting first, we predict that both teams will arrive at the ground on Friday with the intention of batting first if they win the toss.
Even not at full strength, South Africa have too much quality for Ireland who are a willing and hard working side. We expect a closer contest than on Wednesday with South Africa once again coming out on top.
We are backing South Africa to win!
