It would be resumption of T20 cricket for both the sides as Ireland Women take on the Scotland Women in the first T20 of the 4-match series at Belfast. Both the sides are coming into this contest after nearly 20 months of gap in this format of the game. The pandemic and the lack of cricket would have surely changed the equations in both the camps and this is expected to make this game interesting. 

There isn’t much difference between the two sides at the moment where Ireland Women are ranked 10th in the world and Scotland Women are in the 13 place in the ICC rankings. Laura Delany would be looking to start the home season on a winning note. The side would be taking the field after a long gap and Delany would hope they are able to strike form immediately. They have a strong batting line-up and shall look to exploit the home advantage and gain an early lead in the series. 

Shauna Kavanagh and Leah Paul will have to provide a good start in this game. In the middle order the side has lot of experience with Laura Delany and Gaby Lewis in the side. Sarah Bryce and Lorna Jack would be expected to provide an electrifying start in the game. They are the best batters for the side. In the middle order Bryce will have to steer the innings along with Priyanaz Chatterji and Ailsa Lister. They would also expect runs from Ellen Watson and Katie McGill towards the end of the innings.

Civil Service Cricket Club, Belfast is a small ground with shorter squarer boundaries. The pitch is lively here and offers lot of seam and swing to the fast bowlers. Batters have to set in to score runs on this surface. The condition of the ground doesn’t offer much of assistance to the spinners.
