Islamabad United will face Quetta Gladiators in match 19 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 in Abu Dhabi on Friday. 

Two-time Champions will be keen to learn from their mistakes made in the previous game. The batting lineup clearly failed to make an impression against Lahore Qalandars.

On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators will be coming in this with a relatively feel-good factor after registering a much-needed win in their previous match against Multan Sultans. The team management will be hoping that the side can re-start their season a positive note.

Both teams have competed 12 times in the history of the PSL where Quetta have a better record with 7 wins compared to Islamabad’s five victories. 

However, in the recent past, the Gladiators’ have proved to be a more dominant force as they’ve won four out of the last five fixtures against Islamabad United.

After losing their previous match against Lahore, things are still not looking rosy for the United as they will need to produce a collective effort with the bat.

In the batting department, the onus will be on the likes of Usman Khuwaja, Colin Munro and, veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Rohail Nazir and all-rounder Shadab Khan to score the bulk of the runs. 

In the previous game, Faheem Ashraf managed to bail the side out of trouble and help Islamabad push their score beyond 130 runs. Ashraf played well and scored 27 not out off 24 balls with the help of two fours and one six. Besides Faheem Ashraf, Usman Khuwaja scored 18 runs off 17 balls, whereas Hussain Talat chipped in with 14 runs off 17 balls.

On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Hasan Ali, young Mohammad Wasim Jr, and veteran leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed to provide timely breakthroughs
