Tournament: Lanka Premier League 2021 | Format: T20 | Venue: R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka | Toss: To Bat
Bet NowThe Lanka Premier League 2021 has got off to a good start and we have seen good games so far. The 4th game would see the Jaffna Kings up against the Dambulla Giants. The Kings have started with a massive loss as they went down against Galle Gladiators in their previous game. The Giants would be confident with the win they registered against the Kandy Warriors.
The Kings despite their loss in the last game have a very strong side. There is good depth in their batting as well as bowling and this would add to their advantage in the game. The Giants’ bowling attack looked rusty in the last game this would be a major challenge for the side. Both sides match up well and we should have a tight game on our hands.
Thisara Perera’s side suffered a big defeat in the first game the side played. It was a poor show from their batsmen as they went down by 54 runs against Galle Gladiators. Perera would be upset as they had made a good start to the game but couldn’t hold it. He would look to win this game and earn the first points of the season.
The side would like to see a good stand from Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Upul Tharanga after both wasted their starts in the last game. The middle-order didn’t contribute much, and the side would look for runs from the bat of Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Avishka Fernando, and Shammu Ashan. In Perera, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Wahab Riaz the side has good hitters adding to their strength.
Maheesh Theekshana did well with the new ball but the side would like to see better spells in this game from Suranga Lakmal and Riaz who failed to get their lines right in the last game. Jayden Seales impressed with his tight spells in the middle overs along with Hasaranga. Perera would have to bowl in the right areas to improve their efforts with the ball here.

Dasun Shanaka’s side has started the tournament on the right note winning the first game against the Kandy Warriors. They won the game by 20 runs riding on a good show by their batsmen in the game. However, Shanka would like to see better efforts with the ball from his side as they looked out of form.
Phillip Salt and Niroshan Dickwella played well opening the batting in the last game and they would be expected to come up with a similar show. Their middle order is strong with Shanaka, Sohaib Maqsood, and Sache De Alwis in the team. The side would also look for good hitting towards the end of the innings by the likes of Najibullah Zadran and Nuwanidu Fernando in this game.
Their bowlers were sloppy in the last game and the side would expect early wickets from Chamika Karunaratne and Nuwan Pradeep in this game. Imran Tahir and Ramesh Mendis did well and used the conditions to their advantage and the same would be needed here. The side would however need tighter spells from Shanaka who failed to get his line and length right.

There would be some clouds over the skies of Colombo on December 7. The wicket is good for batting, and we have seen a flat track where fast bowlers have struggled, and batsmen have found it easy to score runs. The side batting first in the game would need 170 runs on the board to feel safe.
R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo is a large ground, but it has a flat surface and the outfield here is lightning quick. This makes it a good ground for the batsmen, and we have seen big scores here in the past. Fast bowlers have generally struggled at this venue, but we have seen good performances from the spinners as the track offers them turn.
This has always been a wicket to set up scores. There is little in here for the bowlers and we have seen big scores bring put up. In the past three games, the side batting first has won two games. Hence, we see the side winning the toss here having no hesitation in batting first in the game.
It would be a good contest. The Dambulla Giants come here with a win, but the side has already shown its weaknesses with the ball. They can least afford this against the strong batting line-up that the Jaffna Kings have. The Kings would like to put their loss in the last game behind. They have never lost a game against Dambulla Giants, and this would put them nose ahead in the game.
