It has been two losses in two games for Kusal Perera’s side and the skipper would be upset with losses by close margins in both the games. They lost against the Dambulla Vikings in the last game by 4 runs and went down against Colombo Kings in the Super Over in their opening game. Perera would want his players to hold on to their nerves in crunch moments of the game and win it. 

Perera and Rahmanullah Gurbaz have looked good opening the batting and the side would be expecting a good start from them here. In Kusal Mendis, Kamindu Mendis and Asela Gunaratne the side has good strength in the middle order. They would be expecting good contributions from Priyamal Perera and Seekkuge Prasanna going into this game. 

Bowling wise they haven’t yet been able to put their plans to action and here in this game the side would need early wickets from Nuwan Pradeep and Naveen-ul-Haq. Both of them have leaked runs in two games. Kaveeshka Anjula too hasn’t been able to bowl his tight line and shall need to come up with. Shahid Afridi’s side is under pressure as they go into this game. They have lost both their matches so far and need to win this one to rise up on the points table. One more loss would make things tough for them for the rest of the season. They went down against Colombo Kings by 34 runs in the last game. Afridi would be expecting a better show from his bowlers as they have let the side down in both the games. 

Danushka Gunathilaka and Hazratullah Zazai would need to provide a good start to the side. They haven’t contributed much so far. Azam Khan and Dhananjaya Lakshan have to do well in the middle overs. The side would take confidence from Afridi’s form with the bat and he would have to make contributions down the order with Shehan Jayasuriya, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Milinda Siriwardana in this game. 

It is their bowling attack that has been a big let-down so far. Mohammad Amir has to bring his experience to play alongside Asitha Fernando with the new ball. Mohamed Shiraz, Afridi and Milinda Siriwardana will have to keep the line tight during the middle overs as they have been bowling too many lose balls allowing the opponents to score quickly.

It would be slightly cloudy over Hambantota on November 30. The evening would be warm and we expect to see another flat wicket that would produce lot of runs. Batsmen would be able to play their strokes without any fear on this surface. The side that bats first would need at least 180 runs on the board to feel comfortable on this wicket.

Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota is a paradise for the batsmen as a good pitch and fast outfield helps their cause. It is a very tough wicket for the fast bowlers with no seam moment on offer. Spinners have done well here in the past as the odd ball turns sharply.
