Kent look to salvage some pride in their final Vitality Blast game of the season when they take on Surrey. Unlike Kent, Surrey have enough motivation to go for a victory given that they need to maintain momentum ahead of the quarter-finals. Surrey are the first team to have made it to the quarter-finals and they have done so in style.
Surrey are coming on the back of a comfortable five-wicket victory over Hampshire with the team laden with plenty of positives like the performances of Sam Curran. The same cannot be said about Kent, who are on a four-game losing streak. Kent will view this game as a ripe opportunity to get some and go out with some pride. This will also be the last Vitality Blast game of the season at the Spitfire Ground.

After struggling for majority of the 2024 Vitality Blast season, Kent will look to go out on a high at the very least. The 2021 champion was never really in the race for getting out of the group and they will be finishing bottom of the South group. Kent’s latest match against Glamorgan perfectly summed up their campaign, as they could not get anything against an opposition who did not have much reason to go for the victory either.
Sam Billings provided the glimmer of hope for Kent in the loss against Glamorgan after coming up with 33 from just 17 balls. Billings is the top scorer for Kent this season with 374 runs from his 13 innings at an average of 31.16. Tawanda Muyeye has been consistent as the opening batsman. He has had scores of 73 and 45 in two of his last three games.
Nathan Gilchrist is the top wicket-taker for the team in 2024 and the 24-year-old has managed 13 wickets from his eight innings. Matt Parkinson also has 13 wickets but from 12 innings.

Surrey will not be keen on letting their amazing momentum slip up with just one game left in the South Group. Surrey will be finishing top of the group irrespective of the results in this final match, as they hold a three-point advantage over Somerset.
Despite having dominated the South Group, Surrey find themselves without a player in the top 10 for the most runs or wickets this season. Jamie Smith is the top scorer for the team with 285 runs from his eight innings but he has been unavailable recently. Sam Curran made a big impression in the recent win over Hampshire with his first T20 century. He is now up to 161 runs for his three innings.
Sean Abbott has been a big hit for Surrey since coming back and he has 15 wickets from his eight innings. Jordan Clark has been very impressive in recent matches with the ball. The all-rounder has grabbed five wickets in his last two games. Despite having won the group and qualified for the quarter-finals, Surrey may not make too many changes to the lineup.

The pitch at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury has a reputation for being friendly to the batsmen. The spinners will be able to extract more out of the pitch of the middle overs. The weather conditions in Canterbury will be sunny for most of the day with only around 5% chance of precipitation.
St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury prepares to host its last 2024 Vitality Blast match. The ground has an average first innings score of 175. Due to the short boundaries and a flat pitch, one can expect a decent score from both teams.
The preference of the toss winner is likely to bat first. The teams batting first have had a 56.2% success rate on this ground. The flat pitch makes it ideal to set a decent target.
Surrey have exceptional strength and depth across the board. Despite having already qualified for the quarter-finals, the team are unlikely to let their guard down. Kent have been disappointing throughout the season and it is unlikely to change even on a batting pitch. Kent’s batting line-up has been inconsistent and poor throughout the season. They are likely to end up suffering a loss in this final South Group match as well.
Our prediction is for Surrey to win
