So close yet so far. Kenya came in touching distance in not only breaking their losing streak but also taking this series into a nail-biting decider. Restricting Nepal for a modest total, Kenya would have wanted to finish off the game but failed to do so as they were bundled out for 213 runs.

After winning the toss and batting first Nepal were restricted to just 230 runs, getting bowled out by a very impressive Kenyan bowling display. However, Rohit Paudel ensured that Nepal did get to a respectable total, as he was the star in the batting department.

Kenya would have thought they had the game by the scruff of its neck after that sensational bowling display. But the batting let them down this time. They looked in control for most of the game while Rakep Patel was on the crease, but it wasn't enough as he was the lone man standing. Kenya would want to go on and win the game, as it is a matter of pride. But Nepal would still want to continue their winning run and complete a whitewash.

Kenya Preview

Not the end the Kenya team would have wanted especially after producing one of their finest bowling performances in the series. They would have wanted to put on a much better performance with the bat but would be pleased that they got close to winning the game. Especially with how close they were while Rakep Patel was on the crease.

The bowling department was excellent, putting up a fantastic performance. Each and everyone chipped in with the wickets and bowled like a collective unit. Nehemiah Odhiambo, Vraj Patel, and Shem Ngoche picked up 2 wickets each. The others chipped in with 1 wicket each, breaking the back of the Nepal batting lineup.

The batting again let Kenya down. After the bowling department played their part, the batting would have wanted to do their bit as well. Sukhdeep Singh was bowled on the first ball itself, to which the top order followed. Rakep Patel was their only hope as he scored 81 off 98 balls and looked to bring the game over the line for Kenya, but he lacked support.

Key Players: Vraj Patel, Collins Obuya, Rakep Patel, Nehemiah Odhiambo

Nepal Preview

They came, they played and they have sealed the series. Nepal will be mighty pleased with this performance, as they didn’t only show character but also nerves, as it was a really close game. The way dealt with pressure was impressive given that Kenya threatened to steal the game.

Dev Khanal got off to a really good start scoring 37 off 55 balls. But the star of the show was undoubtedly Rohit Paudel who scored 78 off 95 balls, continuing his impressive form from the T20I. The middle order was nowhere to be found, but Sompal Kami’s late blitz propelled the score to a respectable 230 runs.

The bowling department was in full swing as they blew away the Kenyans right from the start. Sompal Kami set the pace by getting the Kenyan opener clean bowled on the first ball of the innings itself. Kami ended up picking 3 wickets for 40 runs, contributing with both bat and ball. Dipendra Singh Airee was the star as he picked up 4 wickets in just 5.3 overs. The Nepal team would want to continue this form and win the series 3-0.

Venue Details

Gymkhana Club Ground, Nairobi has a capacity of around 7,000 people. The stadium has already been used for the T20Is earlier in the series. It will remain the venue for the last ODI as well where the home team would like a salvage some pride.

Toss: To Bowl

As both teams have already faced each other quite a few times, teams will look to win the toss and bowl first. The history of the ground is famous for teams chasing winning the game, bowling first will be the way to go after winning the toss.

The Kenyans might not have anything but pride to play for in the final game of the series. They would have felt hard done by in the last game, but they would want to open their account in the win column. As for Nepal, they would want to end this tour of Kenya with a win and complete their whitewash. There is still a lot to play in this series and would be a fascinating watch.

We predict that Nepal will defeat Kenya.
