Confident Kolkata Knight Riders would look to retain their top spot on the points table when they meet the Delhi Capitals in the 19th game of the Indian Premier League 2022. KKR registered its third win of the season as they defeated the Mumbai Indians in the last game. For Delhi Capitals it was another poor show as the side went down against Lucknow Super Giants.
Delhi Capitals are struggling with their batting and have lost the last two games. On both occasions, their batsmen have failed to score runs at a good pace. The side would have to improve here and come up with a better show to move up on the points table. KKR have played well as a team in the last two games and the side would like to ride this momentum.
After the first round of games in the tournament Shreyas Iyer’s side is being seen as one of the top contenders for the title. They have won three out of the four games they have played and demolished the Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets in the last game. The way their lower middle order delivered the blow to Mumbai would make Iyer happy. It will be a tough contest against DC and the KKR skipper would like his side to fire all cylinders.
Ajinkya Rahane will need to show more consistency and stitch a partnership with Venkatesh Iyer with the latter in good form. The middle-order hasn’t converted its starts and the side would need runs from Sam Billings, Nitish Rana, and Shreyas Iyer. Pat Cummins would be confident after his thrilling knock in the last game and together with Andre Russell and Sunil Narine adds to the side’s batting firepower.
Umesh Yadav has done well for the side with the new ball, and he will need to get early breakthroughs for the side with Rasikh Salam. Cummins had a bad day with the ball in the last game and he must bowl better lines. In Varun Chakravarthy and Narine, KKR have a good spin bowling pair and expectations would be high on them.

Rishabh Pant’s side needs to get going. Their approach with the bat surprised many in the last game as the side lost to Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets. Their middle order failed to accelerate as the side fell short by at least 20 runs batting first. Pant would like to put all that behind and focus on a positive approach to this game. A win can restore their confidence for the rest of the season.
David Warner had a poor debut with the new franchise and struggled with the bat. He must support Prithvi Shaw as they open for the side in this game. Rovmann Powell needs to deliver after repeated failures and add runs with Pant and Sarfaraz Khan in the middle order and do so at a good pace. The side would also like to see a good show from Axar Patel, Lalit Yadav, and Shardul Thakur down the order.
Mustafizur Rahman and Lalit Yadav bowled good lines with the new ball in the last game and the side would expect the same from them. Anrich Nortje bowled terrible lines needs to do well here. Shardul Thakur is known for being a good bowler in this format. He needs to put KKR batsmen under pressure in the middle overs with Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.

We expect a hot and humid afternoon in Mumbai on April 10 and the conditions would be good to bat. The wicket would be flat and the ball would come onto the bat nicely. Bowlers have struggled in previous games here. A score of 180 or more would be a must for the side batting first in this game.
Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai has a great batting surface and a fast outfield. The bounce on this track is true and this allows batsmen to play on the rise. It is a tough venue for fast bowlers as the wicket doesn’t offer lateral movement. Spinners have done well as the dry nature of the surface helps them turn the ball sharply.
It is one of the best batting surfaces in India and big scores have been a norm at this venue. This will be an afternoon game and batting conditions would be best at the start of the game. Hence, the side winning the toss in the game would look to bat first and put up a big score on the board.
Delhi Capitals have seen their campaign tumble in the last two games. Their batsmen have to play aggressive cricket and score runs at a good pace. The side would expect a good start from their openers which has eluded them in the games they have played. KKR has a very good bowling attack and depth in their batting. We expect this to be a close game but our money would be on KKR to win this contest.
