Bet NowIPL season XII has started, and all the fans are cheering up for their favorite franchises and players. Kolkata Knight Riders play their tournament opener in their backyard. Dinesh Karthik leads the side and he had a good season last year both with the bat and captaincy. They have the most destructive opening pair with Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine. The Indian players Robin Uthappa, Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana form the middle order with explosive Andre Russell taking care of finishing duties. They have an enviable top seven batting line-up for any T20 team. Anrich Nortje, Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti has been ruled out of the tournament with injuries and their pace department looks weak with backup resources. They have Kuldeep Yadav, Piyush Chawla along with Sunil Narine to man the spin department. Kiwi Lockie Ferguson, Carlos Brathwaite and Harry Gurney are the pacers available in the squad. Only one of the three players will get into playing XI in the opening match.
Sunrisers Hyderabad had an excellent season last year, but they only fell short of Chennai Super Kings team. Their Skipper Kane Williamson ended their last season as the Orange cap winner with 700+ runs. David Warner returns to the squad and will open the attack. Shikhar Dhawan was traded to stock their middle order with likes of Vijay Shankar and Abhishek Sharma. Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan and Vijay Shankar man the middle order. All-rounders Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammed Nabi and Rashid Khan add great value to the team. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Siddharth Kaul and Khaleel Ahmed are the pace bowlers in the team. They have almost the perfect squad with excellent back-up options such as Johnny Bairstow, Deepak Hooda, Basil Thampi and Billy Stanlake.

Kolkata is one of the pitches in India which has bounce and carry for the pace bowlers and a lot of runs for taking for the batsmen due to fast outfield. Spinners may come into the picture as the tournament progresses as the pitch may wear down. It is expected to be a sunny day with less chances of rain.
Teams have found chasing a lot easier than setting the target in the IPL. And almost 70% of teams elected to chase down the target after winning the toss. The Average score in this pitch is around 160-180 runs.
SRH has an overall balanced side compared to the KKR with much depth in their pace bowling department especially. The fresh Kolkata pitch may benefit them more than the home team.
We are backing Sunrisers Hyderabad for the win!
