Bet NowPeshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings will battle it out in the 15th match of Pakistan Super League 2020 played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Peshawar Zalmi’s previous game was washed out due to heavy rains. It became the first match in this year’s Pakistan Super League to be abandoned without a result. Captain Darren Sammy will be looking to field his strongest combination for this contest.
On the other hand, splendid batting performances from Sharjeel Khan, Alex Hales and Imad Wasim powered Karachi Kings to a stunning five-wicket win over Islamabad United in a game played in Rawalpindi on Sunday. Imad Wasim will be hoping that the side can maintain their standards against Peshawar Zalmi.
In the previous meeting between the two teams this season, Karachi Kings managed to beat Peshawar Zalmi by 10 runs.
In their last game, Karachi Kings delivered a superb batting performance to register their second win in this year’s competition. Captain Imad Wasim led from the front with the bat and ball for Karachi Kings.
Kings won the toss and bowled well to restrict Islamabad United to 183 runs in their allotted 20 overs. The pace trio of Mohammad Amir, Chris Jordan, and Umaid Asif conceded a lot of runs at the back end of the innings to see United gain momentum going into the break.
The big positive for Kings was the spin duo of Imad Wasim and Umer Khan producing excellent performances in the game. In his first PSL game for Kings, left-arm spinner Umer Khan was the pick of the bowlers and finished with figures of 1 for 24 in his four overs.
Chasing 184 runs, Kings got off to a worse possible start as Babar Azam was run-out for a duck, courtesy brilliant direct-hit from Shadab Khan. Sharjeel Khan and Alex Hales led the fightback for Karachi and put on a 58-run partnership for the second wicket. Left-arm medium-pacer got rid of Sharjeel in the fifth over as left-hander was looking in ominous form at the crease. Sharjeel scored 38 runs off 20 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes.
Alex Hales was the standout performer with the bat for Karachi Kings in this contest. He notched up his first half-century in this year’s competition. Hales put on crucial partnerships with Sharjeel Khan and Cameron Delport to put Karachi in a strong position to win the game. Hales scored 52 runs off 30 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes. He was well supported by Cameron Delport, who chipped in with crucial knock of 38 runs off 28 balls with the help of one four and three sixes.
Wicket-keeper Imad Wasim and Captain Imad Wasim put on a match-winning partnership of 48 runs to steer Kings to a comfortable win in the penultimate over of the innings.
Imad Wasim played a sensible inning and scored 32 not out off 15 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. He was provided adequate support by Walton, who chipped in with 23 runs off 17 balls.

Peshawar Zalmi Captain Darren Sammy was left frustrated after Friday’s match against Islamabad United was abandoned without a ball being bowled following persistent rain in Rawalpindi. With this result, Peshawar Zalmi is currently placed fourth in the league table.
For this game, the side will be relying on their in-form opener Kamran Akmal to make a notable contribution with the bat in this game. Wicket-keeper batsman is currently franchise’s leading run-scorer with 173 runs to his name.
Besides Akmal, Tom Banton found form with the bat in the game played against Lahore Qalandars. He looked in good touch with the bat and scored 34 runs off 15 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes. Rookie batsman Haider Ali has surprised everyone with his performances. Against Lahore Qalandars, he produced a quick-fire 34 runs off 12 balls with the help of one four and four sixes.
Lewis Gregory, Liam Livingstone and Captain Darren Sammy will be looking to produce big runs in the later stages of the innings.
In the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz, and Rahat Ali to provide wickets with new-ball. In a rain-affected game, the pace trio conceded a lot of runs and will be keen to make a strong comeback against Karachi Kings. Surprisingly, medium-pacer Lewis Gregory tuned out to be the unlikely hero with the ball in hand against Lahore Qalandars. He picked up four wickets and conceded 25 runs from his three overs.

Due to cooler conditions expected for the game, the moisture in the surface might offer some assistance to the quick bowlers. The weather condition for the game is going to be clear skies in the evening.
Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is going to host the 15th game of 2020 Pakistan Super League between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. Peshawar Zalmi will take heart from the fact they have an excellent head-to-head against Karachi Kings in the PSL.
Due to clear skies expected for the game, the side that wins the toss, would be looking to bowl first and restrict the opposition to a modest score. All three PSL games played at Rawalpindi have been won by sides batting second.
Based on the current form, Karachi Kings will be favorites to win their game against Peshawar Zalmi. With Sharjeel Khan, Alex Hales and Cameron Delport doing well for the side in the previous game, Babar Azam will be looking to get back amongst the runs in a big way.
On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi will need to bat exceedingly well in order to upstage Karachi Kings in this game.
Expect Karachi Kings to beat Peshawar Zalmi in a high-scoring thriller!
