Tournament: Pakistan Super League 2022 | Format: T20 | Venue: National Stadium, Karachi, Pakistan | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowIt is the 4th game in the Pakistan Super League 2022 and the Karachi Kings would be taking on the Quetta Gladiators. Both sides come into this contest having lost their first games of the season. The Kings made a poor start against the Multan Sultans in a one-sided contest while the Gladiators went down fighting against the Peshawar Zalmi. Both sides would be pressing hard for a win here.
Karachi Kings’ batting looked rusty in the last game and none of their players could accelerate the scoring. The Quetta Gladiators on their part were poor with the ball in the last game and they shall look to make amends here. There is good strength on both sides and hence this game is expected to go down the wire.
It was an extremely poor start to the tournament for the Kings as they went down by 7 wickets against the Multan Sultans. Babar Azam who is captaining the side this year would be upset with the performance of his batsmen. They failed to accelerate the scoring towards the end. They have to bat well for the side to win here.
Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan scored runs opening the batting, but they would have to score at a better strike rate in this game. The side would expect a better show from the middle-order trio of Joe Clarke, Mohammad Nabi, and Tom Lammonby in this game. Lewis Gregory and Aamer Yamin would need to play more aggressively down the order for the side to get to a good total here.
Yamin and Mohammad Imran shall have to strike early as the Gladiators’ batsmen looked in good form in the last game. Mohammad Taha and Nabi showed good form with the ball in the last game and this would make them confident here. Lewis Gregory, Mohammad Ilyas, and Umaid Asif make this a formidable bowling attack and they shall have to stand up to the challenge.

Sarfaraz Ahmed would be heartbroken having failed to defend 190 runs in the last game. Poor bowling towards the end cost them the game. However, Sarfaraz would be happy with the form of his top-order and shall look to leverage it here. Karachi would be a tough side to beat and Sarfaraz shall want to see strong efforts from his players.
Will Smeed and Ahsan Ali set up a 155-run stand in the last game and the side would look for a solid start from them here. The side has good firepower in the middle order with Ben Duckett, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz in the side. They can also expect big hits from Sarfaraz, Sohail Tanvir, and James Faulkner towards the end of the innings.
Their bowlers took a pounding in the last game and the new ball pair of Mohammad Hasnain and Tanvir have to deliver the goods. Mohammad Nawaz and Faulkner will have to bring their experience to play in this game. Naseem Shah looks in good form and the side would also expect a good supporting act from Iftikhar Ahmed and Ashir Qureshi.

We expect to see clear skies over Karachi on January 29, and conditions would be comfortable during the warm winter evening. The wicket would be a good one to bat on though we have already seen signs of a two-paced surface. Big scores have been chased here and the side batting first would need 180 runs on the board.
National Stadium Karachi is known for being a batsman’s paradise. The outfield is quick and this allows easy run-scoring for the batsmen. Bowlers have always found it challenging to bowl here especially the fast bowlers. It is a good venue for the spinners as the ball can take sharp turn occasionally.
It is an evening game and dew is expected to be a major factor at the toss. In the two games played so far, we have seen the wicket allow easy run chases. Bowling in the second innings would be a big challenge and hence the side winning the toss in this game would be expected to opt for bowling.
Karachi Kings would have to work on their batting going into this contest. Most of their batsmen looked in poor form in the previous game and they can least afford one more bad day. The Gladiators have already shown their prowess with the bat and need better efforts from their bowlers. It would be a close game but Gladiators would start slightly ahead thanks to the form of their batsmen.
