It is the 6th game of the IPL 2020 and the Kings XI Punjab would be up against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kings XI would consider themselves unlucky to have lost against Delhi Capitals in their first game due to umpiring error and their inability to hold on to their nerves. Royal Challengers on the other hand come into this contest with a superb win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad which will surely boost their confidence.
The problems for the Kings XI are many and their top order looked in poor form in the last game. They have not won against RCB in the last two seasons which will be a mental obstacle the side needs to overcome. As for the RCB they would be happy with the performance of their bowlers which is the weak point for the side. It’s still early days in the season and we should have an exciting game on our hands.
Lokesh Rahul’s team messed up in the final overs of the last game against Delhi Capitals which ended in a tie. The side finally lost out in the Super Over. While they were upset with an umpiring error but Rahul will look forward to better show from his players in the next game. He would also hope his players are able to win the crunch moments of the game.
It is their batting that will need to fire in this game and the side is likely to try out the opening pair of Lokesh Rahul and Chris Gayle. They will look to provide a good start here. Mayank Agarwal looks in good form shall look to play an innings similar to the last game. Karun Nair, Glenn Maxwell and Nicholas Pooran missed out in the last game and the side would need them to use the long handle well in the next game. All of them bring in good firepower to this line-up.
The new ball pair of Mohammed Shami and Sheldon Cottrell did well in the last game and the skipper would be looking at them to pick wickets at the start of the game. Krishnappa Gowtham and Ravi Bishnoi will have to do well in the middle overs against the strong batting line-up that RCB has. Glenn Maxwell will have to make good use of his experience as the third spinner for the side.

Virat Kohli would be very impressed to win the first game of the season. They came back from behind to win by 10 runs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in what was a great show from their bowling attack. With this win the side has shed its image of being poor starters in the tournament and shall be looking to continue with the same momentum against Kings XI against whom the side hasn’t lost a game in the last two seasons.
The side would be happy with the performance of its openers Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch who provided a good start in the last game and look for a similar show from them. Kohli missed out but along with AB de Villiers and Shivam Dube makes a very strong middle order for the team. With Washington Sundar and Josh Philippe down the order the side packs good punch in its batting.
It was their bowling attack that pulled the game back against Sunrisers with Yuzvendra Chahal staring in the show earning a well-deserved Man of the Match award. The side would however want to see better efforts with the new ball from Umesh Yadav and Dale Steyn as they had leaked runs at the start of the game. Navdeep Saini did well and along with Sundar and Dube adds depth to this bowling attack.

It will be great weather over Dubai September 24 but the heat and humidity will test the fitness levels of the players. The track has been slow where the odd ball has surprised the batsmen and hence they will need to be watchful here. Batting first a side would need to target a score of around 160 runs to feel comfortable on this surface.
Dubai International Cricket Stadium is a large venue which balances it out well batsmen the batsmen and the bowlers. Batsmen can play their strokes and the fast outfield adds to the scoring rate. Fast bowlers who use the variations have done well but it tough conditions for them to bowl. Spinners have a good record at this venue as the ball takes sharp turn here.
The wicket has been slow in the two games that have been played so far and we have witnessed low scoring games. Hitting the ball isn’t easy and this creates a problem for the side to set up a score. Hence, the captain winning the toss is likely to opt for bowling first and keeping the opposition to a small total.
Kings XI Punjab would be eager to win this game as a loss here would complicate it for the side and push them down on the bottom of the points table. The side will have to improve its batting performance to win this game as most of their batsmen looked out of form. Royal Challengers Bangalore on the other hand comes into this contest with a win under their belt and their batting line-up looks in good form. It is expected to be a close contest but Royal Challengers with their stronger batting like up would start favorites.
