Kings XI Punjab has made a big turnaround from being at the bottom of the points table. As they take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 43rd of the IPL, pressure would be on both the sides to win this one. A victory for either side would increase their prospects of making it into the next round. Sunrisers Hyderabad has made a strong comeback in the last game where they won against the Rajasthan Royals comfortably. 

In the earlier game between the two sides this season, the Sunrisers had registered a massive win. They also have a great record against Kings XI and have the last five out of seven games that have been played between the two sides. Lokesh Rahul’s side seems to have turned it around when it matters most with three back to back wins. They won against the table toppers Delhi Capitals in the last game by 5 wickets and this would have surely boosted their confidence. While they are still far away from booking a berth in the playoffs, the kind of form that we have seen from the side in the last few games would definitely boost their confidence. 

Opening the batting for the side are Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. They are among the top run getters this season and shall look to provide a good start to the side. Chris Gayle has looked good so far and along with Nicholas Pooran makes the middle order strong. Glenn Maxwell’s return to form makes this batting line-up seem dominant and he will look to score quick runs alongside James Neesham and Deepak Hooda in this game. 

Their bowling attack has come good in the last few games after the big losses they suffered at the start of the season. Maxwell and Mohammad Shami are doing well with the new ball at the moment. Neesham and Murugan Ashwin shall be expected to bowl tighter lines in this game. Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi have been expensive in the last few games and the side shall expect a good show from them in this one.

David Warner would be happy with the way his side played against the Rajasthan Royals winning it by 8 wickets in the end. They did well with the ball, and when it came to chasing the score the side was clinical. Warner would want his men to draw inspiration from the good record they enjoy over the Kings XI. 

Openers Warner and Jonny Bairstow failed to light up the skies with their fireworks but they have already shown their capability in the tournament. Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar set up a match winning partnership in the last game. Down the order the side will expect good knocks from Priyam Garg, Priyam Garg and Abdul Samad. Their batsmen would look to exploit the poor form that Kings XI are in at the moment.  

Their bowlers did a great act in the last game with Sandeep Sharma and Jason Holder bowling extremely well. Shankar too has been pitching up in the right areas. Rashid Khan has been difficult to crack this season and the side would have already assigned him a big role. It will be important for the likes of Shahbaz Nadeem and T Natarajan to support the main bowlers.

Bowlers have found the track challenging as there isn’t much of assistance. The side batting first would need to have a score in excess of 170 runs to feel comfortable on this surface.

Dubai International Cricket Stadium is the largest ground in UAE and has large boundaries. However the pitch has always aided the batsmen who can play the ball on the rise and the fast outfield acts to their advantage. Fast bowlers who have variations have done well at this venue and spinners enjoy bowling at this venue as it isn’t easy to hit them out of the park.
