Martin Guptill and Unmukt Chand failed in the last game, and the pair must put up a better show in this game. The middle order also struggled, and they will need partnerships between Rilee Rossouw, Nitish Kumar, and Jaskaran Malhotra in this game. The side has good finishers in Andre Russell and Narine, and the pair must bring their experience to play.  

Lockie Ferguson did well in the last game and will look to strike early, sharing the new ball with Ali Khan. Narine is the most experienced bowler in the side, and the onus will be on him to put the MI batsmen under pressure along with Azam Zampa. Russell and Corne Dry must deliver good spells in the supporting role.

Dewald Brevis played well in the last game, along with his fellow opener Steven Taylor would like to give a solid start in this game. Nicholas Pooran and Pollard played well in the middle order and would like to build partnerships with Monak Patel. Tim David played well against Unicorns, and the side would like to see him add quick runs with Hammad Azam and Sarabjit Ladda.  

The bowlers took a beating in the last game, and they will expect tighter spells with the new ball from Trent Boult and Kagiso Rabada in this game. Ehsan Adil and Ladda leaked runs in the last game, and they must bowl tighter spells. Taylor, Pollard, and Azam must do well in the supporting role for the side to win.
