A win or two more would have seen Essex in the Quarter-Finals. They would be hoping for more consistency this year. Skipper Tom Westley and wicket-keeper batsman Grant Roelofsen will be the key batters in the middle order.

The two were quite successful last season and Roelofsen was the top-scorer for Essex with 355 runs. Tom Westley has been in good form in the County Championship and should be eager to carry the same in this tournament.

Feroze Khushi, right-hand batsman opening for Essex also scored some valuable runs that included a hundred last year. He is one to watch out for at the top. 3 of the top 4 batters in the Essex lineup are quite promising.
