Colin Ackermann’s side snatched a thrilling 1-run win against the Northamptonshire Steelbacks in the last game. They held their nerves in the final over of the game to win the contest and keep their hopes alive for a berth in the next round. The side has won the last four games in a row and Ackermann would like his players to use this momentum and register a massive win here to improve their run rate.  

The side would need a good start from Nick Welch and Lewis Hill as both these players are looking in good form. Ackermann played a captain’s knock in the last game, and this would make him confident. He would like to build partnerships with Arron Lilley and Wiaan Mulder. Rishi Patel and Ben Mike add firepower to this batting line-up down the order.  

Their bowling is a bit of concern after the poor show in the last game. The side would like Callum Parkinson and Mulder to bowl better lines in this game with the new ball. Adam Lyth and Finn Allen did well in the last game and the side would like them to deliver the goods here. The middle order is strong for the team with Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Harry Brook, and David Malan in this team. They would also expect to see runs from the bats of Willey, Thompson, and Shadab Khan in this important contest.  

Matthew Waite and Willey were expensive in the last game and the new ball pair shall have to come up with better lines in this game. Bowlers have found the surface challenging to bowl on. The side batting first would like to hit the 200-run mark to feel safe on this track.

Grace Road, Leicester has a flat track along and a lightning-fast outfield which allows batsmen freehand at scoring. Fast bowlers do enjoy bowling here as the new ball tends to move off the surface. Spinners have had a tough time on this wicket as the surface isn’t known to assist them.

The venue is known for high-scoring games, and we have seen batsmen have a great time batting on this track. A big score at this venue can easily be defended as the wicket gets slower in the second innings. The side winning the toss in this game wouldn’t mind batting first.
