Qalandars’ challenge to turn tables on Islamabad United
Islamabad United to win
In what is expected to be a keenly fought game Lahore Qalandars would be up against the Islamabad United in the 15th game of Pakistan Super League. Both the sides are coming into this contest with wins and look high on confidence. Qalandars defeated the Karachi Kings in their previous game while the Islamabad United won a one-sided contest against the Quetta Gladiators.
Islamabad United has enjoyed good success against the Lahore Qalandars in the past and have defeated them in the last four games the two sides have played. The side would be looking to take confidence from that. However the Qalandars are no pushovers and have shown their form this season and all this would set up a tight contest that fans across both the camps are likely to enjoy.
Sohail Akhtar comes here with a massive win. They come here with a 6-wicket win over the defending champions Karachi Kings and this will give them lot of confidence. Akhtar would be looking for a better show from his bowlers as this has been their only weak point so far in the tournament.
Fakhar Zaman is in great form and he will look to provide the side with a good start in this game alongside skipper Akhtar. Joe Denly missed out in the last game and shall look to do well in the middle order along with Mohammad Hafeez and Ben Dunk. Down the order David Wiese, Samit Patel and Zeeshan Ashraf will be looking to score quick runs.
Shaheen Afridi has been brilliant so far in the tournament and he will look to start the proceedings well with Hafeez. Haris Rauf and Ahmed Daniyal will need to keep the scoring rate under check in the middle overs. Patel and Wiese have lot of experience and need to use it well in this game.

Shadab Khan would be proud of the way his side played in the last game against the Quetta Gladiators to win it by 6 wickets. They restricted their opponents to a small total and chase it down comfortably. Khan would like his side to take inspiration from the brilliant record they have against the Lahore Qalandars.
They have their openers Alex Hales and Paul Stirling in great form and the side would be looking for a good start from them in this game. In the middle order Rohail Nazir and Shadab Khan have also done well and along with Hussan Talat would look to set up a good platform for Iftikhar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf to score quick runs.
Hasan Ali and Mohammad Wasim Jr are doing well with the new ball and a similar show would be expected from them in this game. Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf have good experience of bowling in these pitches and a good show would be expected from them here. In Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Musa the side has good depth in its bowling.

Karachi would see clear skies on March 04 and the wicket would be a good one to bat on as we have so far seen in the tournament. Ball would come on to the bat allowing the batsmen to play their strokes. The side that bats first here would have to eye a score of 200 to feel comfortable.
National Stadium Karachi has seen batsmen do well as there isn’t much for the bowlers. The wicket is flat and outfield fast making it a nightmare for the bowlers here. Fast bowlers have struggled to put brakes on the scoring rate. It is a good venue for the spinners as there is assistance from the surface.
The sides chasing the scores have gone on to win all the 12 games that have been played so far in this tournament. The wicket doesn’t change its character and this makes it great for chasing big totals. The side that wins the toss should have no hesitation in opting to bowl first in this game.
It is going to be a tight game with the kind of form we have seen from the two sides. Lahore Qalandars have done well with the bat but their bowling attack is slightly weak with Rashid Khan busy with the national side. Islamabad United have good strength in their batting and a good record against the Qalandars and this would make them favorites here.
