Lahore Qalandars will be desperate to make a strong comeback when they take on Quetta Gladiators in the 21st match of 2020 Pakistan Super League at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.

Lahore Qalandars failed to make an impression with bat and ball in the previous game played against Islamabad United. In the previous game, the side suffered a massive 71-run defeat at the hands of Islamabad United. Captain Sohail Akhter will be hoping that the side can put on a decent show in this fixture.

On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators seemed to have lost the plot in the last couple of matches. Sarfaraz Ahmed and co. will need to come with better game plans in order to get back to winning ways.

Lahore Qalandars Preview

Having lost their four games out of five played this season, Lahore Qalandars will need to win their entire remaining fixture in a bid to keep their playoff hopes alive in the competition. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Jaahid Ali will be slotted into the playing XI in place of Dilbar Hussain and Mohammad Faizan, who did not do well with the ball in hand. The biggest disappointment has been the form of opening batsman Chris Lynn, who has only scored 107 runs at an average of 21.40. Lahore Qalandars will be hoping that Lynn can deliver the goods in this game.

In the batting department, the side will be relying on the likes of Mohammad Hafeez, Samit Patel and Ben Dunk to deliver the bulk of the runs. Mohammad Hafeez has registered low scores in the previous three matches and will need to put in a decent score in this game. Ben Dunk failed to replicate his heroics from the previous game and perished after scoring 25 runs off 15 balls with the help of four boundaries.  Former England all-rounder Samit Patel perished for a low score in the game played against United.

In the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Shinwari and Samit Patel to make crucial breakthroughs.

Lahore Qalandars Predicted Playing XI:

Salman Butt, Mohammad Hafeez, Samit Patel, Chris Lynn, Seekkuge Prasanna, Ben Dunk (wk), Usman Shinwari, Sohail Akhtar (c), Salman Irshad, Dilbar Hussain/Jaahid Ali, Muhammad Faizan/Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Lahore Qalandars Actual Playing XI:

Sohail Akhtar, D Wiese, F Zaman, Dilbar Hussain, Mohammad Hafeez, Salman Irshad, DJ Vilas, SR Patel, Shaheen Afridi, Raja Farzan, Ben Dunk

Quetta Gladiators Preview

Defending Champions must bring their A-game to table in order to make it to the playoffs of the competition. The side has lost their three matches in the tournament and will need to raise their overall game to break their losing streak against Lahore Qalandars.

In the batting department, the side will be relying on the likes of Jason Roy, Shane Watson and skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed to do the bulk of the scoring. Chasing 171 runs in 15 overs was not going to be an easy task for Gladiators. Openers Shane Watson and Jason Roy got the side off to a promising start and added 45 runs in 4.4 overs. Watson was the first to be dismissed as he scored 19 runs off 14 balls with the help of four boundaries.

Despite losing Watson, Jason Roy played well and scored 45 runs off 26 balls with the help of five boundaries and two sixes. England opener has been the consistent performer for the side this season with 227 runs at an average of 37.83 with two half-centuries to his name. Ben Cutting, Mohammad Nawaz and Ahmed Shehzad failed to capitalize on their decent starts to see Gladiators post 140 for 7 in their 15 overs and lose the game to Peshawar Zalmi by 30 runs.

In the bowling department, the side will be depending on the likes of Naseem Shah, Tymal Mills and Mohammad Hasnain to pick up wickets with the new ball. In the previous game, pacer Mohammad Hasnain was the pick of the bowlers on display for Quetta and finished with 4 for 34 in his three overs.

Left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz failed to take a wicket and conceded 26 runs from his two overs.

Quetta Gladiators Predicted Playing XI:

Salman Butt, Mohammad Hafeez, Samit Patel, Chris Lynn, Seekkuge Prasanna, Ben Dunk (wk), Usman Shinwari, Sohail Akhtar (c), Salman Irshad, Dilbar Hussain, Muhammad Faizan
