Our Prediction is for Titan to win this game!
In the 12th game of the Momentum One Day Cup, Lions would take on Titans at their home ground Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. The Lions have had a bad season so far having lost two games and witnessing the others being washed away. On the other hand, Titans have won a game and lost another one.
Titans had won both the games played between the two sides last season and have a better side even this time compared to the Lions. It remains to be seen if the Lions are able to achieve their first win of the season or the Titans leave the field as the happier unit.
Rassie van der Dussen’s return as captain in the last game didn’t change the fortune for the side as they lost against the Cape Cobras after being in a comfortable position. In the upcoming game the side would need to win to regain pride and confidence.
Reeza Hendricks looked in good form in the last game but his opening partner Ryan Rickelton missed out. Kagiso Rapulan, Rassie van der Dussen and Dwaine Pretorius played well. Pretorius nearly did the impossible winning the last game. But the side would need better performances from other players where the top order would need to convert starts into big score.
The bowlers struggled in the last game and apart from Aaron Phangiso and Bjorn Fortuin none of the bowlers pitched in the right areas. The skipper would want to see better performances from Dwaine Pretorius and Malusi Siboto in the next game for the side to win the game.
Aaron Phangiso, Dwaine Pretorius, Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen (c), Malusi Siboto, Nono Pongolo, Bjorn Fortuin, Nicky van den Bergh (wk), Kagiso Rapulana, Ryan Rickelton, Delano Potgieter.
Heinrich Klaasen’s team has done well so far in the season. They won the first game against Knights comprehensively and lost a close game to the Dolphins. Their batsmen have done well in the season and so have their bowlers.
Henry Davids and Tony de Zorzi their openers look in good form and the latter has already made more than 200 runs in the season. Theunis de Bruyn and Heino Kuhn are batting well. With Heinrich Klaasen in the lower middle order the side has a quality batting line-up and should do well with the bat in the next game.
Lungi Ngidi has bowled well in both the games and this would add to the confidence of the side in the next game. Henry Davids is also bowling well and so are Tabraiz Shamsi and Shaun von Berg. This makes them a tough attack to score against in the next game.
Heino Kuhn, Henry Davids, Farhaan Behardien, Chris Morris, Theunis de Bruyn, Lungi Ngidi, Shaun von Berg, Tabraiz Shamsi, Junior Dala, Heinrich Klaasen (c & wk), Tony de Zorzi.
There is forecast for clear skies on the 27th of February 2019 at Potchefstroom and there would be ideal conditions for a game. There are chances of rain in the preceding days and hence there would be some moisture in the wicket which will assist the bowlers in the initial overs.
Senwes Park, Potchefstroom has been known to be a good ground for the batsmen. With comparatively shorter boundaries compared to some of the other grounds in the country batsmen have liked playing here. The ball also tends to do a little bit in the initial overs which will encourage the bowlers
It is a small ground and being an afternoon game it should be a good surface to bat on if the batsmen can see through their initial overs. Chasing under lights would be a problem and in such a case the captain winning the toss would like to bat in the game.
After four games Lions look in bad shape. While two of their games were washed away they have lost the other two games which put them under pressure. Titans have won a game and lost their last one against the Dolphins but have looked like a good unit especially with the bat. Going into the next game the Titans would sure start as favorites to win the upcoming encounter.
