Chennai Super Kings would face Lucknow Super Giants in the 7th game of the Indian Premier League 2022 as both sides search for their first win. Both teams have lost their opening games. CSK started on a poor note against the Kolkata Knight Riders while Lucknow Super Giants wasted a good opportunity against the Gujrat Titans. They would like to get the ball rolling with a win here.
Chennai Super Kings didn’t field their strongest XI in the last game, but they will be able to do so with Moeen Ali out of quarantine. Most of these players have played together for a while and know each other’s game. Lucknow is a new franchise, and the players might need some time to gel together. They will need to come up with a team effort to win this game.
KL Rahul would be upset with the show his side put up in the last game against the Gujrat Titians in the last game losing it by 5 wickets. Their top order failed in the last game and the side would have to improve on that. Rahul has to lead from the front and play a big innings to take his side to a win in this game.
The side would expect a strong show from Rahul and Quinton de Kock as their failure hurt the side badly in the last game. Evin Lewis needs to do well in the middle order with Manish Pandey. Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, and Krunal Pandya looked in good form against the Titans and the side would have big expectations from the trio in this game.
Dushmantha Chameera did well with the new ball in the last game but he has to strike early opening the bowling with Avesh Khan. Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers, and he will have big responsibilities on his shoulders in the middle overs. Mohsin Khan, Hooda, and Ravi Bishnoi went for runs bowling poor lines and better spells would be needed from them against CSK.

Ravindra Jadeja didn’t have the most promising start to his career as captain as the side went down against the Kolkata Knight Riders by 6 wickets in their last game. Jadeja seemed overwhelmed by the occasion and didn’t get the best out of his depleted bowling attack. With the side likely to field a stronger attack in this game, Jadeja would like to grab the first points for the season in this game.
Rituraj Gaikwad and Devon Conway failed in the last game and the side would look forward to a good start from them in this game. Moeen Ali comes to the side, and he would strengthen the batting in the middle order with Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu. The side bats deep with MS Dhoni, Jadeja, and Shivam Dube are known for their hitting abilities. Together the batting unit must deliver after missing out in the last game.
Their bowling attack looked toothless in the last game and the side would need early wickets from Adam Milne and Tushar Deshpande who bowled poor lines with the new ball. Ali adds to the strength of this attack and shall need to keep the scoring under check with Jadeja and Bravo who did well in the last game. Dube must do well to justify his selection as an all-rounder.

We expect a warm and humid evening in Mumbai on March 31. The wicket is a belter and batsmen can score runs easily. Bowlers aren’t likely to see much assistance from the track and have to rely on their variations to trouble the batsmen. The side batting first would have to aim at a target of 180 runs or more on this placid wicket.
Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai has a flat track and a fast outfield. Batsmen have always enjoyed batting on this track as the ball comes to the bat nicely. The surface doesn’t have much for the fast bowlers who have to hit the deck hard to generate bounce. The large square boundaries offer cushion to the spinners as they also generate turn from the track.
The last game played here saw a big score being chased easily. It is a batting surface where the bowlers are likely to struggle. The side that wins the toss here would look to chase as the dew factor would make it challenging for the side bowling in the second innings.
Lucknow Super Giants don’t seem to have the right balance in their bowling attack. Their attack lacks experience and we saw this in the last game. The side would have to improve in this department to win this game. CSK has several match-winners in the side and they would field a stronger side in this game than they did in the last game and this would make them favorites to win this contest.
