Tournament: ICC T20 World Cup Asian Regional Finals Qualifier | Format: Twenty20 | Venue: Indian Association Ground, Singapore | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowIt was a lackluster performance from the pre-tournament favorites Nepal in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Region Final. Their poor efforts with the bat saw them go down against Qatar in the opening game of the tournament. They would next face Malaysia at the Indian Association Ground, Singapore. Malaysia won its first game of the tournament comprehensively against Kuwait.
The two sides have so far met twice in the past in this format and on both occasions, Nepal has won comprehensively. Despite the loss in the first game, Nepal is one of the best teams in this tournament. It will be interesting to see how Malaysia approaches the game as they have momentum on their side.
Ahmed Faiz’s team made a confident start to the tournament as they won the game against Kuwait easily. The skipper would want his side to maintain the same momentum going into the next game. He would know that Nepal is a good side and they haven’t defeated them ever and would like to turn that record around.
Shafiq Sharif and Syed Aziz played extremely well in the last game and there was a good contribution from Aminuddin Ramly towards the end. Openers Virandeep Singh and Anwar Arudin will need to do well at the top and the likes of Faiz and Muhamad Syahadat have to finish the innings in style against a quality attack that Nepal has.
Their bowlers did a brilliant job in the last game where Pavandeep Singh put up a brilliant show with the ball. Fitri Sham also bowled well and so did Muhamad Syahadat. Having Sayed Aziz in the side and Sharvin Muniandy makes their bowling attack look well-balanced.

Paras Kadka’s side didn’t play to their reputation in the opening game against Qatar. They were never able to up the scoring rate and ended up with a below-par total in the game. With a lot at stake in the upcoming game, the skipper would want his players to rise up to the challenge in the next game and win it.
Paras Kadka and Gyanendra Malla played well at the top but they were unable to push up the scoring rate. Dipendra Singh Airee also did well with the bat but rest of the batsmen failed miserably in the game. The side would want to see Sarad Vesawkar, Sompal Kami and Binod Bhandari to make contributions in the next game and win it.
The bowlers did well to make it tough for the Qatari batsmen with Basant Regmi, Abinash Bohara and Karan KC bowling tight lines and giving nothing away. Sandeep Lamichhane’s performance was a big disappointment for the side and he will have to bowl well for them to win in the next game.

There are chances of rain in Singapore on July 24 and overcast conditions are likely to remain during the game. We have so far seen the good track on this venue and the ball has come on to the bat nicely. The side batting first will need to put up a good score on the board to win on this flat track.
VENUE
The Indian Association Ground, Singapore is a small venue and a paradise for the batsmen who can easily hit the ball on the up. The fast bowlers get some assistance initially especially in heavy conditions but by and large, it is a ground where batsmen have always enjoyed the upper hand.
It is an early morning game and given the weather predictions the ball is likely to move around a bit in the initial overs which shall make batting difficult early on. We expect the side winning the toss to make use of these conditions and invite the opponents to bat first on this surface.
Malaysia started with a good win in the tournament and would carry that confidence as they meet Nepal in the next game. Nepal is also a very strong team and though they lost out in their opening game they are a far better side than what that performance would show. They have several seasoned campaigners among their ranks and this would make them favorites in the next game.
