Manchester Originals Women would be under immense pressure as they take on London Spirit Women in the 24th game of the Hundred Women’s Competition 2021. They won the last game against Southern Brave Women, which was their first win in five games. The London Spirit on the other hand defeated the Northern Superchargers Women by a big margin in their last game and look good at the moment.
Manchester Originals Women have been plagued by poor performances with the bat and the ball right through this tournament. Few of their players have been able to rise up to the occasion so far. It will be interesting to see how the hosts approach this game against London Spirit with their fate nearly sealed in the tournament.
Kate Cross’ side registered its first victory of the season in the last game against the Southern Brave Women. Their batters did well to take the side to a 17-run win under the DLS method in the game. They are almost out of the contention for a place in the Eliminator and the side would look to play for pride in front of their home crowd.
Lizelle Lee and Emma Lamb batted beautifully in the last game to take their side to a victory, and they would aim to continue with this momentum. In Mignon du Preez, Georgie Boyce and Sophie Ecclestone the middle did well in the last game and needs to continue with the same form. They would also expect runs down the order from Kate Cross and Cordelia Griffith in this match.
Kate Cross and Ecclestone were excellent with the ball in the last game and the side would like to see similar show from them here. In Hannah Jones and Natalie Brown, the side has two bowlers who bring in lot of variety to the table and they would look to do well. With Alex Hartley and Lamb in the side they have good depth in the attack.

After three straight losses that saw them struggle, Heather Knight’s side regained its form in the last game winning against the Northern Superchargers Women by 7 wickets. It was a dominant show with the bat and the ball from the side. Knight would like to win this game as this would take them a step closer to booking a berth in the Eliminator.
Tammy Beaumont has looked in great form with the bat and she would look to offer a good start in the game along with Naomi Dattani. Deandra Dottin comes here with runs in the last game and solidifies the middle order with Heather Knight and Danielle Gibson. The side has Chloe Tryon and Charlotte Dean to follow, and they are good hitters of the ball.
Their bowling attack has done well and Deepti Sharma bowled tight lines with the new ball and look to strike early alongside Sophie Munro. Freya Davies, Danielle Gibson and Charlotte Dean also did well in the last game, and this would add to their confidence. Knight adds to the bowling options for the team in this game.

The skies over Manchester would be cloudy on August 10 and there are strong chances of rains during the game. The wicket has generally been flat but cloudy conditions would make it challenging for the batters in this contest. The side that bats first would need a score above 130 runs in these conditions here.
Old Trafford has a good batting surface where ball has always come to the bat nicely allowing batters to play their strokes. Fast bowlers get assistance in the early overs with the new ball but there isn’t much for them on this track. Spinners have enjoyed bowling on this wicket as the odd ball can turn sharply and surprise the batters.
The wicket has been a flat one and batters have done well. This also makes it a difficult surface to set total on as the team with a knowledge of the target has an advantage. Thus, we believe the side that wins the toss here would opt to bowl first in this game.
It has been a sorry state for the Manchester Originals Women so far in the competition. Their win in the last game has come little too late for the side. The hosts would look to carry this form into the next game. London Spirit on the other hand look much stronger in both departments of the game and this would make them favorites to win the contest.
