Maratha Arabians would get down to defending their title as they take on the Northern Warriors in the first game of T10 League 2021. The Arabians are bringing in a complete new squad to this edition and it will be interesting to see how they play. The Warriors had struggled in the last season and they would be hoping to make a better start in this edition.  

It is the first game of the season and both the sides has seen several changes and hence this is expected to be an interesting contest. Shoaib Malik would be leading a completely new look Arabians squad this season that has only few names from the squad that represented the side last season. This will make it all the more interesting as the players will have to gel well together to win this game. Malik would need to bring his experience to play and lead the side from the front. 

Laurie Evans and Mohammad Hafeez would need to play with intent opening the batting for the side in this game. The middle order has good players in Malik, Mosaddek Hossain and Ravinderpal Singh and quick runs would be expected from them. The likes of Amjad Gul Khan and Abdul Shakoor will look to make use of the long handle well in this game. 

The side has a good bowling attack with Taskin Ahmed and Ishant Malohtra opening the bowling for the side and they will need to put the scoring rate under check. Sompal Kami, Pravin Tambe and Malik bring in vast experience and they would look to trouble the Warriors’ batsmen and restrict their scoring rate.

Nicholas Pooran who has been appointed skipper for this season would be aiming for a brilliant start to this edition of the tournament. He is leading side packed with good talent and shall look to put up a stiff challenge for the Arabians. Pooran would be looking for good show from his batsman as this is the biggest strength of this team. 

Brandon King and Lendl Simmons would look to provide an electrifying start to the side in this game. They have good hitters of the ball in the middle with Nicholas Pooran, Ansh Tandon and Rayad Emrit being specialists in the shorter format of the game. Fabian Allen and Wayne Parnell can hit the ball hard down the order for the side. 

With the ball Wahab Riaz and Nuwan Pradeep shall look to strike early and trouble the Arabians’ top order. Dhananjaya Lakshan and Parnell bring in good experience to this attack and they can turn the game with their experience and skills. Junaid Siddique adds variety to this bowling attack.

The skies over Abu Dhabi would have slight clouds on January 28 but the conditions would be good. The surface has looked slow in the recent games that have been played here. But in this format batsmen have no time to waste and they would need to play their stroke. The side that bats first would eye a score in the range of 120 runs here.

Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi has large boundaries but the outfield is fast and this allows batsmen to play their strokes on this surface. Fast bowlers have struggled on this track as there is low bounce but spinners do well as the ball turns sharply and can lead to batsmen playing false strokes.
