The 4th game of the UVA Premier League T20, 2020 would see the Monaragala Hornets take on the Badulla Sea Eagles at Badulla Cricket Ground. It will be an important game for both the sides as they come into this one after having lost their respective games on the first day. While the Monaragala Hornets lost a close game after putting up a good score on the board it was an extremely poor show by the Badulla Sea Eagles. 

The Monaragala Hornets have a strong batting line-up as we had seen in the last game and they would be looking to carry on from where they left in the last game but the Hornets would have to make quick recovery as they had failed both with the bat and the ball. Kasun Senanayaka would be extremely upset with the efforts of his bowlers in the last game. They failed to hold on to their nerves and lost a game after putting up 203 runs on the board. The skipper would like his side to put that behind and focus on playing well against the Eagles in the next game as the side didn’t look in the best of form.  

Sriyaan Wijeratne and Imesh Udayanga played well at the top in the last game and shall look to continue with the same form. The side would expect a good show from the skipper who missed out in the last game. Pradeep Witharana played a blinder and his 86 off of 24 balls lifted the side to a big total. With the likes of Ajith Ekanayake and Umesh Karunaratne having good hitting abilities their batting looks good for the moment. 

The side will need to come up with an improved bowling performance in the next game after the way they were slaughtered in their first match. Mark Nawanjaya and Chamind Silva will need to do well with the new ball. The side will want Sachithra Serasinghe, Chethan de Silva and Imesh Udayanga to bowl tighter spells in the next game.

Shehan Ranathunga’s side suffered a crashing defeat in the last game against the Mahiyanganaya Unilions losing the game by 8 wickets. It was a lackluster batting performance by the side in the game and their bowlers couldn’t put up much of challenge with the low total. The side will need to play out of their skins to win the next game. 

None of their top 5 batsmen could reach double figures in the last game and the side will need openers Chaturanga Dissanayaka and Gayan Lakshan to provide them with a good start in the game. They have good hitting prowess in the middle with players like Nilanka Jayawardhana, Navinda Imalka and Yashtha Madhusanka in the side. These guys will need to get over their disastrous performance against the Unilions and play positive cricket in the next game. 

Their bowlers also didn’t do well in the last game and the side will need Navinda Imalka and Vishwa Karunaratne to provide early breakthroughs with the new ball. Chaturanga Dissanayaka and Rohan Pathirana are known to be good spinners of the ball and shall need to come up with a better performance in this game.
