Three-time Champions Mumbai Indians will be looking to get off to a perfect start to their campaign when they take on Delhi in their opening fixture. Rohit Sharma will lead the side for this year’s competition and will certainly open the innings for the franchise.

On the other hand, revamped Delhi Capitals will be keen to turn their fortunes around this season with a good start against Mumbai Indians. Captain Shreyas Iyer will be focused to get the right combination for the opening game of this year’s competition.

The franchise has certainly bolstered their overall squad by signing players like Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Ingram, Axar Patel and Ishant Sharma for this year’s competition.

In the batting department, the side will be relying heavily on the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer to do the bulk of the scoring. Dhawan will be keen to do well for Delhi Capitals in the opening game of the league against Mumbai.  Last season, he scored 497 runs in 14 matches for his former franchise (Sunrisers Hyderabad). One thing is certain that Dhawan will produce consistent scores for the franchise at the top of the innings.

Last year, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant finished the season as the leading-run scorer for Delhi with 684 runs in 14 matches at an average of 52.61. Delhi Capitals will be hoping that Pant can deliver runs with the bat against Mumbai Indians.

Captain Shreyas Iyer is another bankable player in the batting department for Delhi Capitals. Last year, he scored 411 runs in 14 matches at an average of 37.36. He is certainly one player to watch out for Delhi Capitals in this year’s competition. Colin Munro and Colin Ingram are accomplished T20 players and will certainly provide value with the bat this season.
