The Sunrisers Hyderabad shall be playing their most important game in the Indian Premier League 2022 taking on the Mumbai Indians. Sunrises lost against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the last game and have dropped to 8th place on the points table. The Mumbai Indians on the other hand come with a win against the Chennai Super Kings.
Though Mumbai Indians are out of contention for a place in the next round they have won the last three out of four games the side has played. They also have an excellent record against the Sunrisers and have lost only once against them in the last four seasons. The pressure would be on the Sunrisers, and it remains to be seen if they can keep their hopes alive.
Rohit Sharma’s side is enjoying a good run of form in what has otherwise been the worst season for the side in the last ten years. They defeated the Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in a one-sided game. Sharma would look to carry this form forward and win this game to restore lost pride. The Mumbai Indians skipper would like to avoid finishing at the bottom of the points table.
Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma have been inconsistent, and the side would like to see a good start from them in this game. Tristan Stubbs, Daniel Sams, and Tilak Varma have good skills in this format of the game, and they would look to deliver here. Tim David has displayed his hitting abilities and he would look to score runs down the order with Hrithik Shokeen.
Daniel Sams and Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly in the last game and the side would like to see a good opening spell from them in this game. Riley Meredith will need to work on his line and lengths and do well in the middle overs with Kumar Kartikeya and Hrithik Shokeen. Ramandeep Singh would be expected to bowl tight lines as SRH has clean hitters of the ball in the side.

It has been a performance in the extremes for Kane Williamson’s side. From five wins in a row to five successive defeats they have seen it all. They here with a 54-run loss against the Kolkata Knight Riders. They have to win this game by a huge margin to improve their run rate to stay on the hunt for a place in the next round.
Kane Williamson hasn’t had the best season by his standards and he must offer support to Abhishek Sharma opening the batting with the latter enjoying a great run. Their middle order has been through a poor patch and the trio of Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, and Rahul Tripathi have to fire all cylinders in this game. Washington Sundar, Shashank Singh, and Marco Jansen are good hitters of the ball and they will have to come up with strong performances.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Marco Jansen shall look to deliver a good start to the side with the new ball. T Natrajan and Washington Sundar losing form at this important phase is worrying and the side would look for a better show from them. Umran Malik has bowled with lots of heart but the side would want him to apply his mind and make use of variations.

There would be odd clouds over the skies of Mumbai on May 17. We expect to see a flat surface as we have seen in the previous games that have been played here. The ball has come to the bat nicely and we have seen big scores being made here. It is a tough venue to defend a score and the side batting first would need 180 runs on the board.
Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai is one of the best T20 venues in India and sides and batsmen have always enjoyed batting here thanks to a flat wicket and fast outfield. It is a tough venue for fast bowlers as they don’t see much assistance from the surface. Spinners have done well here as the wicket offers sharp turn occasionally.
In the last seven games only twice has a side been able to defend a total successfully at this venue. The wicket has been good for chasing scores. There is some assistance in the early part of the game for the bowlers. Thus, the side winning the toss here would look to take advantage by bowling first.
Sunrisers Hyderabad would face the heat after a string of failures. Their batsmen have failed to deliver as a unit in the last few games. It will be tough for the side as the bowling attack too has lacked consistency. The Mumbai Indians have shown their strength in the last four games. They have a great record against the Sunrisers and this would put them ahead here.
