The inclusion of left-arm quick Junaid Khan and opener James Vince turned out to be a big positive for Multan in the game played against Islamabad.

Pacer Junaid Khan bowled well and dismissed in-form opener Luke Ronchi to provide an early breakthrough for the side against Islamabad United. In his second over, he dismissed pinch-hitter, Asif Ali, to maintain the pressure on Islamabad’s batting lineup.

Sarfaraz Ahmed’s Quetta Gladiator lost their fourth game in a row this 2020 PSL season on Saturday when they went down by eight wickets to hosts Lahore Qalandars at Gaddafi Stadium. Quetta Gladiators were desperately searching for a victory against Lahore – who are placed at bottom of the league– but once again ended up on the losing side again. 

Put in to bat by Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators delivered their worst batting performance this season and scored a paltry 98 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs. In reply, Mohammad Nawaz picked up crucial wickets with the new ball but it wasn’t enough as Lahore Qalandars canter to a comprehensive victory.

In the batting department, the team will be depending on in-form opener Jason Roy, who is the franchise’s leading run-getter with 233 runs in 8 matches at an average of 33.28. All-rounder Ben Cutting’s form with the bat has been really impressive this season.

The onus will be on the experienced players like Shane Watson, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Jason Roy to deliver notable contributions in this must win-game. There might be one change to the bowling unit as premier pacer Mohammad Hasnain might be rested for this game.
