Though Ajinkya Rahane was out cheaply in a high-scoring match, Mumbai’s opener Jay Gokul Bista finally managed to convert a good start into a big total.

Bista scored an unbeaten 144 against Railways at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as Mumbai posted a massive total of 324 runs batting first. Suved Parkar at number 3 and Sarfaraz Khan at number 5 also looked in good touch.

Mumbai have a strong batting lineup with some reliable batters at crucial positions in the batting lineup. One of the highlight performances apart from the hundred was Prasad Pawar scoring 41 off 17 balls at number 7.

Tushar Deshpande and Mohit Avasthi will be the key wicket-takers to watch out for in this match. The two are in good touch and shall trouble the Puducherry batters.

Puducherry will need to brace themselves for a tough outing against Mumbai. They failed with the bat in the first two games and even when they bounced back it was against a weaker side like Sikkim.

Mumbai’s bowlers are in great form and they will pose a tough challenge to the batters in this lineup. Skipper Damodaran Rohit and his opening partner Jay Pande haven’t been in their best form at the top.

And while Parmeeswaran Sivaraman and Paras Dogra led the run chase at number 3 and 4 in the last game, openers will remain key to a good total. Arun Karthik and Fabid Ahmed are other key players in the middle-order.

We are yet to see a great team effort from this batting lineup. They’ve been making a lot of changes to the batting order and except for a few isolated performances, there haven’t been any impressive knocks from the Puducherry batters.

Karn Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, and Rahul Sharma have found success with the ball and they shall be the match-winning players in this side to watch out for.
