Middlesex United Stars finished the last season of the Jamaica T10 in third place with five wins, five losses, and one draw. The Stars, in their last outing, won against the Middlesex Titans by 42 runs. They will be looking to get off to a positive start this time around and potentially win the championship.

Led by Damani Sewell, a top-order batter who scored 172 runs and took 11 wickets in 11 matches, he will likely open the innings and have the responsibility of providing a good start alongside wicket-keeper batter Sashane Anderson, who has scored 105 runs in ten T10 matches in his career. Milton Mills and Damian Bryce will add solidity to their middle order. Jamaine Morgan, with 50 runs and six wickets last season, adds depth with both bat and ball.

In the bowling department, Sheldon Pryce (12 wickets last season) holds the key in the death overs, while RogJohn Henry, Amoi Campbell, and Ryan McLean form the core of their bowling lineup. While their spin attack appears a bit thin, the all-rounders will step in and bowl some overs.

Surrey Kings Preview

The reigning champions, Surrey Kings, who won nine of their ten league matches and defeated the Surrey Royals in the finals, enter this year's competition as the heavyweights. Led by the star and Player of the Tournament of the last edition of the Jamaica T10 League, Jeavour Royal, who scored 103 runs and picked up 17 wickets, is coming on the back of solid performances in List A matches. He bats in the top four, bowls two overs of left-arm spin, and often picks up two wickets per game with an economy of under eight.

West Indies internationals Jermaine Blackwood, Kennar Lewis, and Kirk McKenzie form a star-studded and destructive top order, meaning the middle and lower order are likely to have less work with the bat. With the ball, in the pace department, Andre Dennis, left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder Shalome Parnell, and young talented right-arm pacer Andre Bailey bowl consistently in the mid-120s to 130s and are difficult to score off. While they do have three major spin-bowling options in the form of Royal and Mario Davis (both left-arm spinners), and Kenroy Williams with his off-break bowling adds depth to their bowling lineup.
