It is the 19th game of the Mumbai Premier League and NaMo Bandra Blasters shall take on Eagle Thane Strikers in what is the last league game for both the sides. After making a poor start to the season the Blasters come into this game with two consecutive wins under their belt. On the other hand, the Strikers having shown promise initially have only a single win so far lost both their previous games.

For the NaMo Bandra Blasters, a win in this game shall take them to the semi-finals of the season while Strikers will keep their hopes alive with a win. It is expected to be a hard fought game in the park as both the sides are likely to put their best performance.

NaMo Bandra Blasters Preview

Shreyas Iyer the Blasters skipper would be happy with the turnaround of his side. Having lost the first two games they have made a strong comeback winning their last two games and having defeated SoBo SuperSonics in their last encounter. A win in the game will take them to the semi-finals of the season and this is exactly what the skipper would be eyeing in the game.

Shreyas Iyer hasn’t been able to do well this season and may be due for a big score in this game. Eknath Kerkar comes in after playing a match-winning knock in the last game. Prasad Pawar and Sujit Nayak have been consistent in this season which makes their batting strong with the likes of Shrideep Mangela and Nikhil Patil in the side and has good hitting abilities with the bat.

Nikhil Date and Aditya Dhumal come into this game having shared five wickets between themselves in the last game. Karsh Kothari has been consistent in all the games with his line and length and with Yash Malap they have a good bowling unit.

NaMo Bandra Blasters Predicted Playing XI:

Eknath Kerkar (wk), Shrideep Mangela, Shreyas Iyer (c), Prasad Pawar, Sujit Nayak, Nikhil Patil, Siddharth Chitnis, Aditya Dhumal, Yash Malap, Karsh Kothari, Nikhil Date

Eagle Thane Strikers Preview

Aditya Tare would be extremely upset with the kind of performance his side has put up in the last couple of games. They wasted an opportunity ARCS Andheri to win the last game with some lackluster performance in the lower order after having started their chase well. Tare would hope his side can win this game by a big margin as this will create a chance for them to qualify for the semi-final.

Aditya Tare has been magnificent with the ball all season and he would need to do well for his side to win. Alpesh Ramjani has also done well with the bat for the side. But openers Sachin Wagh and Jaideep Pardeshi have failed so far and they will need to do well if the side has to win this game.

As far as their bowling attack goes Prashant Solanki and Kruthik Hanagavadi have done well for the side. But the side will need better bowling performances from the likes of Aishwary Surve, Ankush Jaiswal and Rakesh Prabhu to win this game.

Eagle Thane Strikers Predicted Playing XI:

Sagar Mishra, Aditya Tare (c & wk), Alpesh Ramjani, Sachin Wagh, Shrikant Limbole, Aishwary Surve, Ankush Jaiswal, Kruthik Hanagavadi, Jaideep Pardeshi, Prashant Solanki, Rakesh Prabhu

Weather Conditions

The weather is expected to be dry in Mumbai in the afternoon of May 23. The pitch has looked good so far for batting this season and is expected to be friendly towards the batsmen. The bowlers would have to bowl a tight line to halt the scoring rate as it looks like a 180+ track.

Venue

Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai has been a typical T20 venue where the batsmen have enjoyed batting on this surface. We have seen several high scoring games at this venue in recent times. There is little in for the bowlers at this wicket apart from the first few overs when the ball does a bit.

Toss: To Bowl

In the eight games that have been played in the afternoon so far in this venue the side bowling first has won on six occasions. They have used the early juice in the surface to good effect and going into this game the skipper winning the toss would elect to bowl first.

In the four games that they have played so far, NaMo Bandra Blasters have managed to win two games and go into this one with momentum on their side.

On the other hand, Eagle Thane Strikers have so far managed to win only one game and come into this one after two consecutive losses. With momentum being on the Blasters’ side and a better batting unit, they are likely to win this game and make it to the semi-finals.
