They have lost both the games that saw action and shall have to win this one to keep their hopes alive for the rest of the season. The Oval Invincibles on the other hand had won their opening game of the season and this would add to their confidence going into this game.

Northern Superchargers Preview

Their last game against the Manchester Originals was washed away by rain. Ben Stokes’ side would have to perform in this one as they had lost both their previous games. They need get going to improve their position on the points table. Their opponents have looked good, and Stokes would like his side to put in their best efforts and earn their first win of the season. 

The side would need a strong partnership between openers Adam Lyth and Chris Lynn who haven’t been at their best so far in two games. Stokes has to do the power hitting in the middle order and hope for good support from Harry Brook who has looked good. Lower down the order the likes of John Simpson, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Mujeeb ur Rahman would be expected to come up with their contributions. 

Their bowling attack has been expensive. Mujeeb ur Rahman and David Willey must bowl tight spells with the new ball and grab wickets in this game. Adil Rashid, Callum Parkinson and Stokes have lots of experience and they need to put this to good use as Invincibles have a formidable batting line-up.

Sam Billings’ side saw its last game against the London Spirit being washed away due to rains. The side has started the season well against the Manchester Originals winning the game by 9 runs. Billings would know that his opponents are under pressure and look to exploit this and register his side’s second win of the season. 

Openers Jason Roy and Sam Curran have to give the side a good start after their failure in the first game. The middle order is rock solid for the side with Sunil Narine, Will jacks and Billings and the latter two have done well. They have good hitters of the ball to follow in Laurie Evans, Colin Ingram and Tom Curran which is a huge plus for the side. 

Sam Curran and Saqib Mahmood are specialists in this format of the game and hence the side would like to see strong efforts from them with the new ball. Sunil Narine shall be expected to use all his variations well in this game and check the flow of runs in middle order along with Tom Curran, Nathan Sowter and Reece Topley.
