New Zealand women didn’t allow Indians to make a comeback in the series so far and currently have taken a lead of 4-0 in this ODI series. The last ODI of this tour will be played at John Davis Oval, Queenstown on 24th February 2022 where India are on a verge of getting whitewashed by hosts.
Amelia Kerr has stolen the show again in the last ODI for New Zealand Women and managed to win the 4th ODI single-handedly for her team. Now Indian women will get the last chance to claim a single win on this tour after crushing defeat in the only T20 game and last 4 ODI played here.
After getting defeated in the last 10 consecutive games while defending the target, Indian women have tried to chase it but couldn’t manage to change the result in the last match. New Zealand Women have already taken revenge on last year’s series when IND-W defeated them on home conditions. They will now be looking forward to making it 5-0 when they meet visitors on Thursday.
It was a T20 game for both teams when rain disturbed the 4th ODI at Queenstown. New Zealand Women played brilliant cricket under those circumstances and thrashed IND-W in the last match as well. They are now just one win away from taking the complete series by whitewashing visitors on this tour. Indian skipper Mithali Raj invited Kiwis to bat first in the last ODI match. Captain Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates (scored 41 runs in the 26 balls), put a 53 runs stand for the 1st wicket in the powerplay. Amelia Kerr who has been outstanding in the series so far played a blistering knock of not out 68 runs from 33 balls. Vice-captain Amy Satterthwaite has accompanied her with 32 runs from 16 balls.
New Zealand Women scored 191 runs on a loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. While defending the target Hayley Jensen and again Amelia Kerr, both have dismantled the Indian batting unit to register an easy win for their team. Hayley Jensen’s spell of 3 wickets for 32 runs in 4 overs along with Amelia Kerr’s 3 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs, helped Kiwis to take a lead of 4-0 in the series.
In the last 4 matches of the ODI series, New Zealand Women have managed to chase the target 2 times and managed to defend the target 2 times. Whatever situation comes in front of them, New Zealand Women have been handling that pressure well in this series. Now they will try to maintain that momentum in the last game also on Thursday.
Key Players: Suzie Bates, Amelia Kerr, Amy Satterthwaite, Hannah Rowe

The Indian women are yet to register a single win on this tour. They were completely out of the game in this series. Now IND-W will try their last chance to finish things off on a good note when they meet New Zealand Women in the last match of the series at Queenstown. Indian bowlers struggled in front of New Zealand Women’s attacking batting display when the rain disturbed the game which got reduced to 20 overs. Despite Rajeshwari Gayakwad’s spell of 1 wicket for 26 runs in 4 overs, all other bowlers were expensive against the Kiwis. Indian bowlers conceded 191 runs in 20 overs.
Smriti Mandhan and Shefali Varma came for the batting together for the first time in the series but couldn't manage to set a good start for their team. Indian middle-order failed in front of the Kiwis’ attack and lost 4 wickets for just 19 runs in the first 5 overs. Captain Mithali Raj and Richa Ghosh tried to settle an inning for the visitors. Richa Ghosh scored the fastest ODI fifty (52 runs from 29 balls) for IND-W but failed to register a win for her team.
After the failure of the bowling department, while defending the target in the 3rd ODI, the Indian batter failed to perform in the 4th ODI. India have lacked in the all-around performance of the team on this tour. In the last ODI match, they will try to work on that and would like to finish this series on a good note.
Key Players: Smriti Mandhana, Mithali Raj, Richa Ghosh, Deepti Sharma.

The weather will be partly cloudy on matchday with 20%-30% chances of rain. The temperature will range between 24°C and 11°C with winds blowing at 5 km/h. The pitch has favored both bowlers as well as batters in this series.
The series will be hosted at John Davies Oval, Queenstown. It has an average capacity of 19000 spectators.
Out of 13 ODIs that have been conducted on this ground, 11 ODIs have got results. In those 11 ODIs, the team bowling first has won 8. Although the stats favor the chasing team. New Zealand Women have managed to win the games by chasing as well as defending the target in this series. The captain winning the should bowl first here.
By looking at the current form of NZ’s players, it will be no surprise if they make it 5-0 in the last match of the bilateral series. With the batting depth and the attacking bowling unit, NZ’s team has an edge over IND-W throughout the series. Indian women, on the other hand, failed to defend the target in the few matches as well as struggled while chasing the targets in the few.
We predict that New Zealand Women will defeat India Women.
