Oman should be worried about their batting now. In their first win of the tournament, they suffered a batting collapse and the middle-order led the rescue taking the team’s total to 149 runs batting first.

Chasing a 124-run target in their last game, the top-order collapsed once again. This trend is worrying given that Oman have just two more games left to propel themselves in the points table. This is a great opportunity for Oman as they go up against an out-of-form Saudi Arabia to find their batting rhythm. Kashyap Prajapati and Jitender Singh will be the key players at the top. 

Prajapati played a good knock in the last game though his strike rate was low. He was crucial in keeping Oman alive in the run-chase. Skipper Aqib Ilyas who was out for a duck is another crucial figure in this lineup.

In their opening game, Ilyas scored 90 off 52 balls at number 3 against UAE and will need to bring his A-game in this match. The lower middle order also features promising players like Ayaan Khan, Mehran Khan, and Rafiullah. But if the top-order collapses again, Oman will find it difficult to chase or to finish with a competitive 1st innings total.

Saudi Arabia needs to pull things back in their batting department. After failing to defend 142 runs in their opening game, Saudi Arabia went on to score 121-9 and 110-10 in their next two outings. Their bowlers were pretty impressive in the last game as they troubled Bahrain in a small run-chase. Ishtiaq Ahmed, Zain Ul Abidin, and Waheed Baladraf bowled at an economy rate of less than 5 r.p.o while defending 110 runs.

These three will be crucial for Saudi Arabia against Oman. While there have been very few wicket-takers in this bowling attack, these three have been very promising and should play a key role against a struggling Oman.

As far as batting is concerned, Saudi Arabia need to find consistency. Their top order looked very promising in the first couple of games with Faisal Khan scoring a fifty in the opening match followed by a 46-run knock from Abdul Waheed in the second game.

Manan Ali scored 49 off 37 balls in the last match at number 5. They’ve got skipper Hisham Sheikh at number 6 but he’s struggling to score runs. There seems to be no reliable and consistent player in this batting lineup at the moment.
