Oval Invincibles Women to win
Tournament: The Hundred Women | Format: 100-BALL CRICKET | Venue: Kennington Oval, London, England | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowWe are into the Eliminator game of The Hundred Women’s Competition 2021 where Oval Invincibles Women and Birmingham Phoenix Women would battle it out to join Birmingham Phoenix Women in the final. The Oval Invincibles come here after a big loss against the Southern Brave while the Birmingham Phoenix defeated the Northern Superchargers Women in the last game.
It will be a high-pressure contest and we expect to see nerves in both the camps. Oval Invincibles Women have been in poor form in the recent games, but they do have a strong side. They have won three out of the four games they have played at this venue, and this would add to their confidence. The Phoenix come here with three back-to-back wins and we expect this to be a good contest.
Dane van Niekerk’s side has been on and off with its form in the last few games. The side comes here with a massive loss against the Southern Brave Women where they went down by 30 runs. They can least afford similar kind of show in this game. Having defeated Birmingham Phoenix Women earlier in the season van Niekerk would like her side to draw inspiration from that win.
Georgia Adams and Dane van Niekerk have done well opening the batting and the side would look at them for a good start here. In the middle order the side is seeing poor form and the likes of Marizanne Kapp, Fran Wilson and Mady Villiers would need to set up partnerships in this important game. Alice Capsey and Joanne Gardner shall look to put up good show here in the final overs of the game.
Kapp and Shabnim Ismail form a very lethal bowling pair and the side would like to see a good show from them here. Natasha Farrant comes here after a wonderful spell in the last game, and she would have an important role to play here. The side would also need tight spells in this game from Dane van Niekerk and Mady Villiers.

Amy Ellen Jones’ team has been in great form in the last three games and have registered big wins. They come into this contest with a 14-run win against the Northern Superchargers Women where they batted extremely well. They had lost the Invincibles earlier in the tournament and Jones would want to even it out and get into the final with a win here.
Shafali Verma will not be available for selection and hence the onus would be on Evelyn Jones and Maria Kelly to provide a good start to the side. Amy Ellen Jones and Katie Mack are in good form and the side would expect a strong show from them. Down the order Erin Burns, Gwenan Davies and Evelyn Jones would need to add to the score for the side.
Their bowling attack hasn’t been the best in the tournament and the side would like to see early wickets in this game from Emily Arlott and Isabelle Wong. Erin Burns and Kirstie Gordon have bowl tight lines and they would need to keep up with the good show here. Abtaha Maqsood and Phoebe Franklin need to play the supporting act well in this game.

There would be partial clouds in the sky over London on August 20 and the ball is expected to move around a bit in the air. The batting conditions won’t be the easiest in this game given these weather conditions and the side that bats first in the game shall be happy to put up 140 runs on this track.
Kennington Oval, London has always assisted the bowlers and we have seen fast bowlers generate decent movement off the surface. Batters have to spend time at the crease and rotate the strike to score runs at this venue. The conditions here have always been tough for the spinners as there is hardly any assistance for them on offer.
New ball bowlers have done well on this surface in the last few games and batting has been difficult early on during the game. Most sides have preferred to bowl first here on winning the toss and we expect to see this trend continue in this game as well.
There would be pressure on both the sides here. Birmingham Phoenix Women look in good form with the bat with three consecutive wins, but it is their bowling attack that would be worrying the camp as they haven’t done well on that front. Oval Invincibles Women would be playing at home where they have already won three games and their knowledge of the conditions at this venue would give them slight edge going into this game.
