Babar Azam couldn’t have asked for a better show from his side. They won all the five group games to top the points table and come here with a confidence-boosting 72-run win against Scotland. Their batting line-up has looked in great form and the bowling attack has also played complementary roles. Australia would be a tough side and Azam would want his side to play with the same energy and passion as they have done so far. 

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been in excellent form and the side would like to see an electrifying start from them. Fakhar Zaman hasn’t been in the best form, and he would be expected to do well in the middle order with Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez. The side bats deep with Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, and Imad Wasim having a good range of strokes, and this would boost their confidence. 

Their bowlers have done a good job in this tournament and early strikes would be expected from Shaheen Afridi and Imad Wasim. Hasan Ali has been expensive, and he would have to bowl tight lines in the middle overs with Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan. The Pakistani spinners have made good use of the conditions and they would look to repeat the same against Australia.

Apart from their loss against England, Aaron Finch’s side has looked good in the tournament registering big wins. They defeated West Indies by 8 wickets in the last game to book their place in the semifinals. The Aussies haven’t had the best record against Pakistan in UAE and Finch would like to get over this poor record by winning this game. 

Aaron Finch and David Warner have been in good form and the side would need a solid start from them in this game. Mitchell Marsh is doing well in the middle order, and he would look to set up partnerships with Glenn Maxwell and Steven Smith. Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, and Pat Cummins have to play well in the finishers’ role in this tight contest. 

Their bowling attack hasn’t been consistent at the start and the side would need tight spells and wickets from Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood. Pat Cummins too has leaked runs and will have to bowl economically in this game.
