We are into the 6th game of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2021 and Pakistan Women would look to overcome the challenge thrown at them by Thailand Women. Pakistan Women need to win this game after suffering a defeat against Bangladesh Women in their opening game.

Thailand Women lack experience in this format, and this is one of the major weaknesses that the side would have to overcome in this game. They will need a team performance here to defeat their much stronger opponents. For Pakistan Women, this is a must-win game, and we expect the Asian giants to come up with their best show here.

Pakistan Women Preview

Javeria Khan wouldn’t have wanted to start the tournament with a loss, but her side played poorly in the last game against Bangladesh Women to go down by 3 wickets. It was poor efforts with the bat at the top that cost them the game. Khan would like to put this loss behind and aim at earning their first points for the season with a win here.

Muneeba Ali and Ayesha Zafar failed in the last game, and they would have to set up a good platform here. Their middle order too didn’t make contributions and runs would be expected from Khan, Omaima Sohail, and Iram Javed. Aliya Riaz and Nida Dar played brilliantly to set up a 137-run stand for the 6th wicket and the side would look big huts from them here.

Aman Amin and Daina Baig looked good with the new ball in the last game and the same would be required from them here. Nashra Sandhu used the conditions to her advantage and so did Nida Dar and the duo would look to keep scoring under check in the middle overs. In Fatima Sana and Sohail, they have good options in their bowling attack.

Pakistan Women Predicted Playing XI:

Javeria Khan (c), Muneeba Ali (wk), Ayesha Zafar, Omaima Sohail, Iram Javed, Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, Nashra Sandhu, Diana Baig, Anam Amin, Fatima Sana

Thailand Women Preview

It was just the kind of debut skipper Naruemol Chaiwai would have wanted. Playing their first ever One Day International Thai Women stunned Zimbabwe Women to win the game by 8 runs. They would have a big challenge here against Pakistan Women and Chaiwai would want her players to draw inspiration from the win in the previous game and give their best.

Nattaya Boochatham went out cheaply in the last game, but her partner Nattakan Chantam did well, and the side would like to see a good opening wicket stand from them. Sornnarin Tippoch, Nannapat Koncharoenkai and Naruemol Chaiwai made contributions in the last game and the same would be needed from them here. Onnicha Kamchomphu and Chanida Sutthiruang played well down the order, and this would add to their confidence.

Chanida Sutthiruang and Nattaya Boochatham will have to improve their length as they would face a tougher battle against Pakistan Women. Rosenan Kanoh and Thipatcha Putthawong bowled tight spells in the last game and the same would be need from them in this tough battle. The side would also like to see good support from the likes of Kamchomphu, Suleeporn Laomi and Tippoch here.

Thailand Women Predicted Playing XI:

Naruemol Chaiwai (c), Nattaya Boochatham, Nattakan Chantam, Sornnarin Tippoch, Chanida Sutthiruang, Suleeporn Laomi, Thipatcha Putthawong, Rosenan Kanoh, Wongpaka Liengprasert, Nannapat Koncharoenkai (wk), Onnicha Kamchomphu

Weather Conditions

There are predictions for overcast skies and rains in Harare on November 23 and batters would find the conditions challenging. The surface is expected to have something for the fast bowlers early in the game. The side batting first in the game would require 230 runs or more to feel safe.

Venue Details

Takashinga Sports Club, Harare is a small ground, but it has a lively surface that offers assistance to the fast bowlers. Batsmen enjoy batting on this surface as the ball comes onto the bat nicely. It is a challenging venue for the spinners as the small size of the ground puts pressure on them.

Toss: To Bowl

There are predictions for rains during the game and when overs are cut the side chasing the score always has an advantage. The wicket is expected to have some pace and bounce in the early overs. The side that wins the toss in this game would have little hesitation in opting to bowl first.

Thailand Women would be confident after their win in the last game, but the side would also have to fight a bigger battle. Their bowling performance wasn’t up to the mark in the last game and the side would look to improve in this area. Pakistan Women have experienced players on their squad and they would be hungry for success after their loss in the last game and this would make them favorites to win here.
