MI Cape Town recorded their second win of the season in match six on Monday with that result taking them back to the top of the table on nine points. It's been an exciting start to this edition of the SA20 with bat tending to dominate ball and some big scores seen.
Rain has also played a part with one game ending as a no-result but Joburg Super Kings are the only side to still have a 100% record, albeit from one match, at this relatively early stage of the season.
Only one game has failed to produce at least one half-centurion and, just as we are seeing in the short format franchise tournaments across the globe, the batters are given freedom by the coaches to go out and try to club every ball to the fence.
Both sides would settle for a scrappy win in this game though as Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape fight to get off the mark in this game!

Although Pretoria Capitals are still yet to get a win on the board in the 2025 SA20, they have certainly not had the rubs of the green so far in this edition of the tournament.
Firstly, they were beaten by the slender margin of only two runs against Durban's Super Giants in match two before their re-match in game five of the tournament was abandoned without a toss!
At least in this game, they will be up against fresh opposition although the opening pair of Will Jacks and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who both hit half-centuries in match two, don't really care who they are facing when they get going.
With the ball, we expect Senuran Muthusamy and Kyle Simmonds to be Pretoria's most potent bowlers.
Jacks scored 64 runs in the last match against Durban Supergiants to kickstart his season. In his last four T20 innings at Centurion, Jacks has scored 26, 0, 101 & 58. Given his current form and record at Centurion, we back Jacks to score over 20.5 runs in today's SA20 match.

Champions in 2024 but looking out of their depth in 2025, Sunrisers Eastern Cape really need to find a way to turn their undoubted talent into a victory in this game.
Not that their batting was poor in their last match, with skipper Aiden Markram hitting 82 runs from 49 balls whilst there were also cameos from Zak Crawley, Tom Abell and Tristan Stubbs. But the team did not take enough risks when batting and ultimately their total of 175/5 was able to be overhauled with eight balls remaining.
In Richard Gleeson and Marco Jansen, the Sunrisers have a couple of very tall pace bowlers who need to find the right length to be a threat at Centurion. Liam Dawson, Aiden Markram and Simon Harmer will all need to be accurate or their slow bowling could be targeted.
The captain of Sunrisers, Markram after a poor outing against MI, scored 82* runs in 49 balls against Paarl. At Centurion he averages 38 runs per innings, smashing 151 runs in 4 matches. We back Markram to continue his good run of form and score over 21 runs in today's match.

It doesn't always turn out this way but the scheduling of this game looks like it has been expertly done. Rain on Monday and Wednesday at Centurion but Tuesday will be warm, sunny and clear!
SuperSport Park, Centurion has long been a venue with good bounce where the batters get full value for their shots. Expect the bowlers to need to execute their variations to a high standard or else a first innings total of 210+ could be on the cards.
We back the home team Pretoria Capitals to win the coin toss in this fixture.
Three of the four games played last season at SuperSport Park in Centurion resulted in scores exceeding 363.5 runs. The average total match score in the last four SA20 matches played at Centurion is 377.75 runs. With both teams' batters in good form, we predict the total match score to exceed 363.5 runs.
With the weather conditions not forecast to change in anyway from the first innings of the game to the second, we predict that both teams will want to chase ahead of the toss so will choose to bowl first.
Although neither side has managed to record a win in the tournament so far, it is Pretoria Capitals who have been far more impressive. Their opening pair are very exciting and have already made runs whereas Sunrisers Eastern Cape seem troubled by the burden of defending their crown! We are predicting another defeat for the 2024 SA20 champions.
We are backing Pretoria Capitals to win!
