We are in the Super League stage of the T10 League, 2021 and Pune Devils would be up against the Bangla Tigers. The Devils are coming into this contest after a heavy defeat in the last game against Team Abu Dhabi and they will need to regroup and aim at a better show against the Bangla Tigers.  The Tigers also come here after a loss against the Northern Warriors. 

It will be a big test for the Pune Devils’ bowling attack as they have failed to execute their plans in all the three games they have played so far. Their middle order too isn’t looking in the best shape at the moment. Bangla Tigers on their part have done well with the bat in most games. Considering the relative strengths of both the sides this game is expected to be a close one.

Pune Devils Preview

It has been two massive losses for Nasir Hossain’s side after their win in the first game. They went down by 5 wickets against Team Abu Dhabi failing to defend a good total. In the last two games their bowlers have looked completely out of form and this is something that Hossain would want his players to work on in this game.  

Batting looks good with Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Kennar Lewis scoring runs in the previous games. But the side would look for runs from the middle order comprising of Chadwick Walton, Alex Davies and Devon Thomas who haven’t contributed much. Hossain will have a very important role to play towards the end of the innings. 

Their bowlers failed in the last game though Mohammad Amir did look in good rhythm. Munis Ansari and Hardus Viljoen will be expected to bowl tighter lines as they have been expensive. Karan KC and Ahmed Reza will have to provide support with the ball in this game for the side to win.

Bangla Tigers Preview

Andre Fletcher’s side finished on the third spot on the points table during the group stage winning only one in their three games. It was a big loss for them in the last game where went down against the Northern Warriors by 30 runs with their bowlers looking clueless The Devils too are in poor form and Fletcher would look to make use of this opportunity in this game. 

Andre Fletcher is in tremendous form and he would look to provide a positive start in the game alongside Johnson Charles. Chirag Suri did well in the last game and this would give him lot of confidence. With Afif Hossain and Tom Moores in the lineup they have good hitters of the ball. Karim Jannat and Adam Hose too can hit the ball hard and this adds to their advantage. 

Their bowling attack was torn apart in the last game by the Warriors and the side would be expected to make a strong comeback here. Mujeeb-ur-Rahman and Mohammad Irfan must do well being the most experienced bowlers for the side. They would also need improved show with the ball from Qais Ahmed, George Garton and Karim Janat in this game.

The skies would be clear and the conditions would be perfect for a game of cricket at Abu Dhabi on February 1. The track was slow and batsmen need to adjust to the pace here. 130 seems to be a good score for the side batting first and this is what they are likely to target in this game.

Venue Details

Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi is a big ground but batsmen have done well here as the outfield is lightning fast. Spinners do well since the ball turns sharply and lead to false strokes from the batsmen but this can be a very difficult venue for the fast bowlers as there is little for them here.
