Papua New Guinea Preview

Papa New Guinea has been in red-hot form in the qualifiers so far, winning 3 out of 3 matches and sitting on top of the points table. They have dominated each and every game and will hope to do the same in the coming matches too. The win in the first game against the same rivals will also be a huge boost.

After losing the toss and being put into the field first Papa New Guinea made Japan regret their decision from the word go.  Losing 4 wickets in the powerplay, Japan could not build their innings and could only muster a total of 87 runs in their 20 overs. Semo Kamea was the pick of the bowlers picking up 2 wicktes for 17 runs.

The batting department had a modest total of 88 to chase and did it with absolutely no problem. Losing 4 wickets in the bargain, they chased down the total in 15.1 overs. Charles Amini was the top scorer with 30 runs from 28 balls.

Vanuatu Preview

Vanuatu has been extremely poor in the qualifiers so far, which sees them at the bottom of the table. They came into the qualifiers with good form but have not been able to replicate it in any way. They will want to get a better of P.N.G in the next encounter. 

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Vanuatu got off to an extremely poor start. Losing early wickets meant they could not consolidate and ended up getting bowled out for 97 runs.  Jarryd Allan was the top run scorer with 36 runs in 35 balls and received zero to no help from the top and middle order.

The bowling department had a really small score to defend and got off to a brilliant start picking up 2 early wickets. But with not being able to take more wickets the opposition breezed past the score. Williamsing Nalisa was the pick of the bowlers picking up 2 wickets for 14 runs in his 4 overs.
