MSL2019 is almost entering the crucial middle phase where teams would look to settle their best XI going ahead and also they should lag behind in the points table.
Paarl Rocks started the tournament with a dominating win in their opening match. Their fortunes took a u-turn later with a match being abandoned by rain and then losing their match against Tshwane Spartans later. They will look to gain from and momentum with a win in this match.
Defending Champions Jozi Stars are having a horrid time in the tournament losing all their four matches. They are down on confidence and will need some special performances to lift the team morale.
Paarl Rocks have scored consistently with the bat in both their matches with scores of 174 & 186. James Vince played his first match this season and made a superb 86 runs off just 53 balls. Openers Cameron Delport and Henry Davids played some attacking cameos to start the innings on a good note.
Skipper Faf Du Plessis was dismissed for a duck before James Vince took over the charge. Their bowling unit failed to defend a good total and took just 2 wickets in the entire match. Tabraiz Shamsi and Kerwin Mungroo took a wicket each but gave away more than 40+ runs in their 4 overs.
Bjorn Fortuin bowled economically but did not take any wickets in the match.
Henry Davids – Henry Davids provided a good start to their innings in both matches with scores of 38 & 30 respectively. But, he will be disappointed as he did not convert his starts into a big score.
Bjorn Fortuin – Fortuin is evolving to be a good bowler in power plays. He opens the bowling attack as a spinner and strangles the batsmen in the power play. He gave away runs at just 6 RPO in the T20 matches so far.

Jozi Stars need to win and get their first points soon before they lose a chance to qualify for the knockouts. Skipper Temba Bavuma and Reeza Hendricks have fared better with the bat scoring run consistently so far. Chris Gayle and Daniel Christian have failed miserably in the tournament and are yet to make a mark despite playing all 4 matches.
Van Der Dussen came into the tournament with much hopes pinging on him but is yet to deliver with the bat. Their bowling unit looks a bit scratchy and has taken just 17 wickets in four matches. Pacers Kagiso Rabada and Duanne Olivier are not troubling the batsmen consistently and will need to bowl good lines and lengths to take wickets.
Spinners Simon Harmer and Aaron Phangiso are taken for a lot of runs and are not able to stop the run flow in the middle phase.
Their bowlers need to step up their game in this match. Dane Paterson may play this match in place of Gerald Coetzee.
Temba Bavuma – Bavuma has made scores of 27, 62, 38 & 32 in the four matches so far. He is looking in good touch and will look to score more runs consistently for the team. He will vital member in the middle order with their inconsistent top order.
Kagiso Rabada – Rabada is termed as South Africa`s best pacer but his bowling stocks are declining at a rapid pace. He needs to find his rhythm and old mojo back to trouble the batsmen.

The weather looks bright and sunny and we can expect a full match between these two teams.
Paarl is good pitch to bat and we can expect scores in excess of 170 runs here. Three out of four innings have resulted in scores in excess of 170 so far.
Teams will be unsure of the target on this pitch as this pitch is good for batting in both innings. Both captains will look to chase down the target.
Paarl Rocks have in-form players and home conditions to their advantage. Jozi Stars are down on confidence and looking for some spirited performance from the players. They have experienced players who have the ability to turn things around. We expect Paarl Rocks to win this match!
