MSL2019 has been marred by weather interruptions and rain so far and it has taken away a bit of gloom out of the tournament. Teams will look to win matches and place themselves comfortably in the points table as they can leave it till the later stages of the tournament. Tshwane Spartans have played just 7.1 overs in total till now and both their matches were abandoned due to rain. Paarl Rocks have a slightly better fortune with just one out of their two matches abandoned by rain. Both teams will look to win this match and surge ahead in the points table.
Paarl Rocks started this season with a crushing win over Blitz by a massive 86-run margin. Henry Davids, Faf Du Plessis, and Dwaine Pretorius played good 30+ knocks at the top order to help their team get a good start. All the other batsmen from No. 5 to No. 8 failed to cross the 10-run mark.
They have a variety of options in their bowling attack with a good mix of spin and pace bowlers to choose from. Spinners Tabraiz Shamsi and Bjorn Fortuin shared 5 wickets among themselves giving runs at less than 5 RPO. Hardus Viljoen claimed both the wickets of openers to start the downfall to Cape Town innings. Isuru Udana, Ferisco Adams, and Dwaine Pretorius chipped in with a wicket each and kept maintaining the pressure on the opposition. They bowled out the Cape Town team to just 84 runs in the match.
Faf Du Plessis – Du Plessis played a blistering knock of 38 runs off just 20 balls in the last match and smashed 4 massive sixes in the process. He looks to be in a purple patch and will look to continue the same form in this season.
Hardus Viljoen – Viljoen had match figures of 2-0-9-2 and he took the wickets of openers Quinton De Kock and Janneman Malan inside the powerplay to derail the chase. He will look to provide quick wickets in this match too.

Spartans have played just 43 balls so far but it indicated the fragility of their batting line-up. They lost 4 wickets for just 33 runs on board. AB De Villiers was holding the fort in hopes of resurrecting their innings before rain came to halt the match. Experienced players such as Thenis De Bruyn, Dean Elgar, Van Jaarswald, and Heinrich Klassen must bat sensibly and contribute more to the team`s cause.
Morne Morkel and Lungi Ngidi will form the core of the pace bowling department of the team along with young players such as Lutho Simpala and Corbin Bosch. All-rounder Roelof Van Der Merwe will be the lone spinner in the playing XI and he provides excellent all-round depth to the team.
AB De Villiers – ABD is one of the batting geniuses in world cricket and he is plying his trade in T20 leagues after retirement. He will look to prove his mettle in MSL and help his team win their maiden title this year.
Lungi Ngidi – Ngidi`s career has suffered a dip in form due to his injury and fitness concerns. He will look at this tournament as a chance to get back to his peak form and fitness and get some match practice.

The weather looks bright and sunny and we can expect a full match between these two teams.
Paarl is good pitch that provides something to both batsmen and bowlers from the track. The pitch may spice up and favor bowlers as the match progresses. We can expect average score in range of 160 runs.
Pitch is best suited for batting in the first innings and it may help bowlers more in the second innings. Any score above 160 will be hard to chase.
Paarl Rocks had a good all-round showing in their only match whereas Tshwane Spartans suffered a mini-collapse in their small-time in the middle. Both teams have T20 star players in the form of AB, Faf, Davids, Delport, Van Der Merwe and Klassen. We can expect a cracking match between these two sides.
Paarl Rocks will win the match!
