Tournament: Pakistan Super League 2021 | Format: T20 | Venue: National Stadium, Karachi, Pakistan | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowPakistan Super League has seen some interesting games so far and the 8th game between the Peshawar Zalmi and the Quetta Gladiators is expected to follow the same script. Peshawar Zalmi comes into this game after a massive win against the Multan Sultans and they would be carrying that confidence into this game. Gladiators have lost both their games so far and this is a must-win game for them to move up on the points table.
Peshawar Zalmi had won both the games against Quetta Gladiators last season and this would add to their confidence. For Quetta Gladiators things haven’t quite worked their way so far in the tournament and in both the games they have been outplayed. They have stars in the side and it would be interesting to see if the side is able to live up to the challenge in this game.
Wahab Riaz would be extremely happy with the way his side played in the last game. Though they bowled poorly to allow the Multan Sultans to put up a big score on the board the side was clinical during the chase winning the game by 6 wickets in the end. Wahab would be looking to retain this momentum and expect a better show from his bowlers in this game.
Openers Kamran Akmal and Imam-ul-Haq looked in good form in the last game and a similar start would be expected from them here in this game. Tom Kohler-Cadmore played a blinder and makes the middle order very strong with the likes of Sherfane Rutherford and Shoaib Malik. In Haider Ali and Wahab Riaz they have powerful hitters of the ball down the order.
Mohammad Imran bowled well in the last game but rest of the bowlers were wayward in their line and length. Riaz and Mohammad Irfan have lot of experience and they will have to put this to good use in this game. Saqib Mahmood and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman also need to come up with an improved show in this game and keep the Gladiators’ batsmen tied up.

Sarfaraz Ahmed’s side finds itself in trouble at the moment with two big losses that has pushed them to the bottom of the points table. They went down against the Lahore Qalandars in the last game by 9 wickets even after putting up a good total on the board. The side would have to gather back its steam and play well in this game.
Openers Tom Baton and Saim Ayub played poorly in the last game and they will have to come up with a better show. Chris Gayle looks in great form at the moment and ideally should open the batting for the side. Sarfaraz would be happy after his good show in the last game. With Azam Khan, Mohammad Nawaz and Ben Cutting down the order they have good batting strength.
Their bowlers have had two poor outings and a better show would be expected from them here. Nawaz bowled well in the last game and will have to pick early wickets with Mohammad Hasnain. Usman Shinwari and Zahid Mahmood will have to improve their line after bowling poorly in both the games. Anwar Ali and Cutting would need to keep the run rate under check in the middle overs.

The skies would be clear over Karachi on February 26 and in the last few games we have seen the pitch getting better for batting. Batsmen are able to play their strokes freely here and the side that bats first in this game would have to put up a score in excess of 180 runs to win this game.
National Stadium Karachi is a great surface to bat as the ball comes on to the bat nicely and allows the batsmen to play their strokes freely. Fast bowlers don’t get much of assistance from the surface. Spinners do well here as the ball turns and stops on the batsmen often leading to false strokes.
Five games have been so far played in the tournament and on five occasions the side chasing the score have gone on to win the games. The pitch has been a good one to chase a score once the sides have a target score in mind. Hence the side that wins the toss here shall have little hesitation in opting to bowl first.
Quetta Gladiators have lost both their games so far and the side would be under serious pressure. One more loss can force them into playing a catch-up game for the rest of the season. Their bowlers would need to do well here. Peshawar Zalmi is looking good with the bat and has momentum on its side and this would make them favorites to win here.
