After securing their 17th One-Day Cup success last season, this campaign has been one to forget for Western Australia who will finish bottom of the group irrespective of how this or other matches plays out!
For Queensland, nearly the opposite is true as they picked up only one victory in last year's competition to finish next to bottom but ahead of this round of matches could still finish in the top two.
Any clash at the Gabba provides the players with an opportunity to showcase their skills at one of Australia's greatest and atmospheric venues.
Queensland will undoubtedly come into this match with more confidence but Western Australia will be desperate to sign off with a win after such a disappointing campaign.

Queensland have already secured a win in this tournament at their home ground in Brisbane and they will be going all out for another to finish the group stage with four successive victories. Their last success came in the last round when they posted 310/9 before bowling New South Wales out for 256.
Their 300+ total came despite none of the top four going beyond 20 and at one stage they were in trouble on 54/4, but brilliance from Lachlan Hearne, a reliable 34 from Max Bryant and 83 from Jack Wildermuth, got them up to a very competitive total.
If there is one thing which Queensland have with the ball then it is variety and depth. They come into this match after all five of their bowlers picked up at least one wicket in the last game here at the Gabba.
Ben McDermott, Jimmy Peirson (wk), Angus Lovell, Matt Renshaw, Lachlan Hearne, Max Bryant, Jack Wildermuth, Gurinder Sandhu, Liam Guthrie, Mitchell Swepson (c), Callum Vidler

Western Australia's bowlers put in a decent display in their last game, when they were beaten by South Australia at the WACA, but ultimately it was their batting which let them down and prevented them from getting near the modest target of 209.
After seven of their batting line-up recorded single-figure scores, it is pretty clear in which department Western Australia need to improve. Only Sam Fanning, captain Ashton Turner and D'Arcy Short at number six were able to go into double figures and it could be that Short joins Fanning at the top of the order in this game.
With the ball, Lance Morris is an international level bowler and if injuries had been kinder then he could have found himself in Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy instead of at the Gabba for this game. Mahli Beardman also comes into the match in strong form.

Although there is a threat of rain across the first few hours of this game, it is likely to miss the ground but the overhead conditions will be stuffy and humid. The top temperature will be 29 degrees early in the afternoon.
The Gabba often brings the best out of players and with a good, hard and bouncy surface the batters can take full advantage. Whoever bats first will want to post a score of 310+ to be competitive.
With a chance of rain, some cloud cover and humid conditions forecast early in the game on Sunday, we predict that both captains will want to bowl first in this game.
The fall off from last year's success has been marked for Western Australia and there is certainly a link there considering how poor Perth Scorchers did in the Big Bash League. For this game, we expect Queensland to be too strong and to secure another win.
