The Royal Challengers Bangalore would be eying the top spot on the points table as they take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 36th game of Indian Premier League 2022. Both sides would be confident after their respective wins in previous games. RCB defeated the Lucknow Super Giants in their last game while the Sunrisers continued with the good form and come here with a win against the Punjab Kings.
The two sides have shared an exciting rivalry in the past with a 5-4 advantage for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last four seasons of the tournament. This will be an interesting contest as the winner of the game is likely to take a step closer to a berth in the playoffs. We expect to see a cracker of a contest as both teams have their key players in good form.
Faf du Plessis is leading front the front and has settled well as the new skipper for the side. His exciting knock made the difference in the last game against the Lucknow Super Giants where the side won by 18 runs. However, du Plessis would be slightly worried about the form of his middle-order and would want key players including Virat Kohli to deliver in this game.
Faf du Plessis has been among the leading run-getters in the tournament, and he would aim for an electrifying start with Anuj Rawat. Virat Kohli has struggled, and the side would expect him to strike form and do well in the middle order with Shahbaz Ahmed and Glenn Maxwell. Dinesh Karthik’s spark of brilliance is winning games for the team, and he would aim to set the stage on fire in the final overs with Wanindu Hasaranga and Mahipal Lomror.
Mohammad Siraj finally looks in good shape and he would have to strike early sharing the ball with Maxwell as Sunrisers’ top order is destroying bowling attacks. Josh Hazlewood has bowled well in the middle overs, and he will aim to do the same with Harshal Patel and Hasaranga. The presence of Lomror and Shahbaz Ahmed adds to the side’s bowling depth which will serve them well against SRH.

Kane Williamson’s team has turned the tables with four consecutive wins after starting the season with two losses where the pundits had written them off. They defeated the Punjab Kings by 7 wickets in the last game. The script has been the same in the last four wins where the bowlers have restricted opponents to a low score and the top order has smashed the ball to all corners of the park. RCB is a good side and Williamson would want his players to play aggressive cricket here.
Abhishek Sharma and Williamson have looked good in the last four games and the same would be expected as they open the innings. The middle-order looks well settled with Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, and Rahul Tripathi scoring in the last game. The lower middle-order hasn’t batted in the last four games, and it will be interesting to see how Shashank Singh and Jagadeesha Suchith perform in this game.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar got his lines right finally in the last game sharing the ball with Marco Jansen. He must get early breakthroughs as RCB has firepower at the top. Umran Malik has been a find for the side, and they would depend on him for fiery spells in the middle and death overs. Suchith and T Natarajan need to do well in the supporting role for the side to win.

The weather prediction for Mumbai is for clear skies on April 23. The wicket has been a graveyard for the bowlers, and they have failed to put brakes on the scoring rate. We expect to see true bounce on the surface where batsmen would do well. The side batting first would need to cross the 180-run market to give its bowlers something to defend.
Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai is a favorite hunting ground for batsmen. The wicket is flat, and there isn’t any movement off the surface. Fast bowlers have struggled here once the ball loses its shine after initial overs. Spinners have had a better record, but the small size of the ground doesn’t leave any margin of error for them.
Toss would be tricky here as we have seen big wins for the side batting first as well as chasing the score. The wicket has been a high-scoring one and hence sides would like to have a target score in mind. Bowling first seems to be the more sensible option for the side that wins the toss.
It is expected to be a close contest as both sides have shown good form leading up to this game. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowlers have done well but the side lacks depth in the lower middle order. When they are exposed, it can be a big challenge for the side. Royal Challengers Bangalore need to get their bowling right and the side would take confidence from its depth in batting. This would provide them a slight edge heading into this game.
