Rajasthan Royals face a massive challenge as they take on the table-toppers Chennai Super Kings in the 47th game of the Indian Premier League 2021. The Royals suffered a massive loss against the Royal Challengers Bangalore and sit 7th on the points table. The Chennai Super Kings come into this game with a comfortable win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Chennai Super Kings are enjoying great form at the moment and the side hasn’t lost a game yet in UAE this season. Rajasthan on the other hand has suffered due to the lack of consistency of their players. Most of their key players are out of form and it will be interesting to see if they can cause an upset defeating CSK in this game.
Three straight losses have dented the prospects for Sanju Sampson’s side. They went down against Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets in the last game. The side currently sits 7th on the points table and needs to win this game to keep their hopes alive. Their record against CSK hasn’t been impressive and Sampson would like to see a spirited show from his players in this do-or-die game.
The opening pair of Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal have failed to show consistency and the side would need a strong start from them in this game. Samson has shown good form, but the middle order has been a big letdown in recent games. Liam Livingstone and Mahipal Lomror need to deliver in this game. Rahul Tewatia and, Riyan Parag, and Chris Morris are good hitters of the ball, but they will need to put it to good use for the side to win.
On the bowling front, Chris Morris and Karthik Tyagi were expensive in the last game, and they will have to bowl well against CSK’s in-form top order. Mustafizur Rahman and Chetan Sakariya have done well, and the side would rely on them to keep the run rate under check in the middle overs. Tewatia and Lamror must do well in the role of a 5th bowler.

MS Dhoni’s side has been at the top of its game since the tournament resumed in UAE. The side has won all its four games and comes here with a 6-wicket win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in a one-sided game. They have become the first side to qualify for the playoffs and as Dhoni leads his side into this game he would aim to win and build on the momentum.
Openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis are in tremendous form for the side, and they would aim to provide a good start in the game. The side has a formidable middle order with Suresh Raina, Moeen Ali, and Ambati Rayudu in the team. Dhoni along with Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo adds good firepower to the batting down the order which is becoming a nightmare for opponents.
Their bowlers have impressed in this leg of the tournament and the side would look for a good start from Deepak Chahar and Josh Hazelwood in this game. In Bravo, Moeen Ali and Jadeja CSK has bowlers who have been using their experience well in the tournament. The side would however like to see a better show from Shardul Thakur who has been expensive.

We expect to see a hot and humid evening in Abu Dhabi on October 2 and the skies are expected to be clear. There are no demons on the track and batsmen have scored runs easily so far especially during a chase. The side that bats first would need 170 runs on the board to defend it successfully.
Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi has a flat wicket and a fast outfield, and we have seen batsmen do well at this venue. The conditions here are tough for the fast bowlers who have struggled on this surface. It is the spinners who do well as the wicket does offer them decent turn.
In the five games played here this season the side chasing the score has won on four occasions. This is a difficult venue to set a score as the pitch tends to have something for the bowlers early on and eases as the game progresses. The side winning the toss here should have no hesitation in bowling first.
Rajasthan Royals have their task cut out. If they win this game they are in the hunt for the playoffs while a loss would close all doors for the side. Their batting line-up that has had an extended run of poor form will have to stand up and deliver in this game for the side to win. Chennai Super Kings on the other hand are on song and have good depth in batting and bowling and this would make them favorites to win this game.
