Ahead of Match 8 on Wednesday, the IPL is in full flow with 2023 Champions Chennai Super Kings leading the way after beating Gujarat Titans convincingly in Chepauk on Tuesday evening. The win means that CSK have won their first two opening fixtures in the IPL for the first time since 2019 and also means that Gujarat have not won both of their first two matches for the first time in this their third IPL campaign!
Rajasthan Royals will be looking to join CSK on four points and will fancy their chances as they welcome Rishabh Pant's Delhi Capitals to Jaipur on Thursday evening.
Cheered on by a partisan crowd, it is likely to be another tough assignment for the Capitals who are still looking for their first win of the tournament.

Rajasthan Royals have an embarrassment of riches in their side and they produced the goods in their opening game win over Lucknow Super Giants on the weekend. Avesh Khan was their only bowler to go wicketless with New Zealander Trent Boult popping up with two wickets from his opening two overs.
The Royals have quality throughout their side but none more so than in the batting line-up. For this game we can expect the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler to take the attack to Delhi Capitals safe in the knowledge that Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel are waiting in line to contribute if required.
Rajasthan will take some stopping in this match!
The captain of Rajasthan Royals scored 82 runs in 52 balls against LSG on Sunday. Sanju Samson has a phenomenal record at Jaipur (599 runs in 23 matches) and is closing in on 300 IPL runs against Delhi Capitals. Given his performance in the last match and his record against at Jaipur, we back Sanju Samson to continue his good form and score over 36.5 runs against Delhi Capitals.

Although it was a disappointing result on his return to IPL action for Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant, it could have been very different if experienced pacer Ishant Sharma had not got injured whilst bowling which restricted him to just two overs.
The 35 year old is not expected to be fit in time for this match but the Capitals do have plenty of pace bowling depth so should not feel his absence too greatly.
With the bat, the powerhouse top four of David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Shai Hope and Pant are up against a formidable side but they are a quad who will not be frightened of taking the attack to the opposition.
Shai Hope in his debut IPL game scored 33 runs in 25 balls smashing two fours and two sixes. He is a very good player of spin and is in good form. After missing out on fifty in the last game, Hope will be aiming to score a match winning knock in todays match and we back him to score over 22.5 runs against Rajasthan Royals.

It will be cloudy throughout Thursday evening in Jaipur with the temperature expected to remain constant in the mid-low thirties. Although it will be cloudy, there is no danger of rain and the humidity levels will be low.

Two powerful batting line-ups will enjoy what they see on offer from this pitch in Jaipur. On the other hand, the bowlers will know that they have their work cut out and they will probably have to accept early on that they will go for a few runs! A par score is likely to be around 200 in the first innings of this game.
The last five IPL matches played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium saw an average total aggregate score of 322 runs. In the last three head-to-head encounters between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals played at Jaipur, the average total score has been 326 runs. Since both teams boast strong bowling attacks and the pitch in Jaipur traditionally favors bowlers, our prediction for today's match is a total combined score under 349.5 runs.
Rajasthan won the toss, chose to bat first and went on to win the last match here in Jaipur. Therefore, we are backing both skippers to choose to bat first if they win the toss ahead of this game.
With skipper Sanju Samson beginning the tournament in fine form, and with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler both recognised as two of the best openers in the competition, Rajasthan Royals will take some stopping in this match. We expect Delhi Capitals to put up a fight but think the Royals will have too much quality with both bat and ball.
We are backing Rajasthan Royals to win!
