We are into the 30th game of the Indian Premier League 2022 where the Rajasthan Royals would take on the Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR suffered a massive loss against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, their second consecutive loss of the tournament. The Royals too had a poor outing against the Gujarat Titans which would be worrying the side.
Kolkata Knight Riders have shown incontinency in the batting department and their bowling attack also hasn’t been at its best. This would concern the side heading into this contest against a tough opponent. The winner of this game would be better placed for the rest of the tournament and we should have a good game on our hands.
Sanju Samson’s side lost the last game against the Gujarat Titans by 37 runs as the side was done in by its poor show with the ball. They lost the plot during the death overs conceding close to 60 runs in the last five overs. They are currently sitting second on the points table and the side would aim to reach the top with a win in this game.
Jos Buttler has looked in great form but the side would expect more consistency from their other opener Devdutt Padikkal. Rassie van der Dussen, Sanju Sampson, and Shimron Hetmyer are big hitters of the ball and the side would like to see them build partnerships in this game. Riyan Parag, James Neesham, and Ravichandran Ashwin shall have to come up with contributions down the order.
James Neesham and Prasidh Krishna have to bowl tight spells with the new ball as well as towards the end as this was one of the major problems in the last game. Yuzvendra Chahal and Ashwin are key bowlers and the side would expect better spells from them in this game. Parag and Kuldeep Sen will have to come up with better performances as they allowed the Titans to put up a big score in the last game.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer would be worried about the form of his bowlers. In two consecutive games, the bowling attack has led to the side’s downfall. Their bowlers were hammered to all parts of the park in the last game by Sunrisers Hyderabad as they suffered a 7-wicket loss. The side would need its bowlers to execute their plans in this game against a good batting line-up.
Venkatesh Iyer and Aaron Finch missed out in the last game and the pair would need to play a solid hand here. Shreyas Iyer has to lead the charge in the middle order with Nitish Rana and Sunil Narine. The side would be happy to see Andre Russell back in form and he needs to deliver big hits down the order with Sheldon Jackson and Pat Cummins.
It is the bowling attack that has an important role to play in this game. Umesh Yadav has looked good, but the side would desperately need Pat Cummins to come up with a better show. Varun Chakravarthy isn’t in the best form and the side needs him to strike form. Narine is bowling well, and the side would look for tighter spells from Russell and Aman Hakim Khan.

It is expected to be a hot and humid evening in Mumbai on April 18. We are likely to see a flat track in this game where batsmen will be able to play their strokes without any fear. Bowlers are likely to have a tough time on this surface. A score of 200 runs is on the cards for the side batting first.
Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai has a flat track where batsmen are able to play their strokes freely. The ball comes onto the bat nicely and fast bowlers have generally struggled with no assistance for them from the surface. Spinners have enjoyed better records as the wicket is offering sharp turn.
It is the track that has produced maximum runs in the tournament. The wicket remains good to bat on throughout the game and run chases have been easy here. The side winning the toss would prefer to chase the score and hence they are likely to invite the opposition to bat first in this game.
Inconsistency with the bat and poor bowling has plagued the Kolkata Knight Riders. Their bowling attack has been torn apart in the last two games. They will have to put all that behind them and come up with a better performance in this game to win it. Rajasthan Royals have their batting line-up in good form and this would put them slightly ahead of the KKR in this game.
